I love baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals. Saw my first game at the old Sportsman Park on Grand in 1955. Cards vs Brooklyn Dodgers. Stan The Man, a young Kenny Boyer , the Red Head , and Jackie.Too bad he played for them bums

Welcome aboard DragonsFancy. Great advice from good people here. Stick close and read. You can do this and the key for me after 30 plus years was just wanting it bad enough and being fed up with all the bs that goes with smoking. Hope to see ya around and stay strong and best wishes!

Very beautiful country. Is it Idaho? Use to do day hikes quite a bit in my younger years and it was so enjoyable. If you are ever in Las Vegas and need to get out of that s...hole, check out Mt Charleston in the Spring Mt range. Only about an hour to a trailhead that takes you to the 11,900 ft peak. Long day hike but (18 miles) but there are a couple of trails that are shorter and beautiful. God I wish I could still do this.

The Saddest Place I've Ever Been
garry mhudson replied to JimHannoonen's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Can relate Jim. Never did Atlanta but I remember talking to a guy in the smoking room in St. Louis telling me that this location and Atlanta were about all that were left in the major cities. I always went to St. Louis for family twice a year and knew it was getting pretty thin out there for smokers. My nightmare as a smoker was flying back from Anchorage Alaska to my home Phoenix Az. Get on the plane in Anchorage about 11pm and sit on board for a couple hours while they wait for a break in the weather (it`s January) and de-ice the wings a couple times. By that time, you know you will miss your connection in Seattle . The walk to go outside to smoke was insane so the fellow I was traveling with and myself called a cab and got a cheap room close by and smoked and got a couple hours sleep. It sucked that the bars were closed but the clerk at the motel helped out. What we did for cigs. -
Nah! Don`t think so.

The Stupid things smokers do !!!!
garry mhudson replied to Doreensfree's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Yeah what we use to do. It boggles the mind. I still own a 1968 Fender Telecaster Bass that I bought in 1968 at the ripe old age of 18 that has burn marks in the top of the neck where I use to put my lit cig between the headstock and the E string while I played. Sometimes, the butt was still there after I had put the bass in the case and woke up the next morning, sorry make that late afternoon, the next day and had went out. -
Stay close to the board and post a S.O.S. next time. Every time you beat back the crave you will get stronger and able to deal with it. We all went through this and some of us still do deal with it. You can do this. Best wishes and keep close to the board.

Welcome aboard Matt. One day at a time and believe me you can do this. We here are no different than you and have no special gift for kicking the addiction except we finally had enough of it. There will be tough times so hang close and ask for help when you need it but you can do this. The wife and son are major reasons. Maybe grandchildren down the road? Hang in there and stay strong. In no time smoking will be like a bad dream. If you want the quit just take it one day at a time. Best wishes and hope to see you around.
