  1. Wootwoot Octain What an amazing year you've had. You've really quit Nico's butt this year consistently. Thanks for the continuous support you offer on the forums, you've been a great help. Celebrate your day, you deserve it.
  2. Batman, always Batman. he doesn't need to be super. He's used science, physical strength and determination and resilience (which are out of this world) to fight evil. He's made the best of what's available to him. Batman has always been my No.1 and he will always remain so.

-3 Hello Sslip, how are you
  13. Welcome aboard the train Kitano, what a nice time to begin your quit, a new year. Knowledge will be your foremost weapon, read up on all the articles available here, do your own research (I did) and focus on getting through this one crave, one day at a time. All the best on your quit, and if you feel like you're gonna smoke, post an SOS, someone will always be here to help ride out the crave.
  14. Way to go Kate, it's the new year, and time for new awareness maybe in the way we approach our craves and fight this addiction. I think it also links back to the mindful meditation bit somewhere, you gotta focus on the present, and see it for what it is. The "ugly" picture of the smokers life is fact, hence as easy to picture, and focusing on not wanting to end up like that is great motivation. Great post, good thoughts. Keep it up.

    Counting backward

Underestimate is the key word here, yes don't underestimate the crave, but also, like @Sazerac said, don't underestimate your determination and power to overcome. You have to be strong, like really strong only for 3-5 minutes, and then once the crave passes, you can be back to just keeping your guard up. Your body is trying to get back to the addiction, you gotta just keep pushing back. You are doing great.
  24. Congrats Raidermom on being smoke free for a whole month, that is a big step on the way to your forever quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
