  5. Nope
  6. The people passing you by are people who probably began before you and I. The very fact that you are still floating says loads about your resilience. There is light at the end of the tunnel, always.
  7. My dearest, most amazing friend Jo, You never ever need to apologize to me for anything. Thank you for the lovely post, you make my day each time. I just got over eager and jumped the gun. @Doreensfree Thanks for the help, much needed Linda, Joe, Jillar, Whispers, Martian, Johnny, Boo, Jenny and MLMR, thank you for the messages. Onwards to forever!!!
  8. Congratulations MLMR, it is indeed a priviledge to see your journey and the amazing dedication you've shown for this quit. You've stuck it out through hell and back. Kudos to your spirit my friend.

  10. You got this... That's why you chose that name, because you knew you're gonna stick it out. It's tough whenever there's a craving, but our brains are being rewired so no one promised it would be easy. But 3 months is right around when your skin quality is improving, your heart attack rates have considerably dropped, your gums have started repairing themselves, of course the ton of money you've already saved means you can pamper yourself with it. I understand it is super tough, but your body deserves to be taken care of, so it can take care of you as the years go on. Stick it out IGT, you truly got this!!! I believe in you.

  12. Each monthly milestone of mine serves as a reminder of how important the quit, and moreso the people on here are in my quit journey. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have come this far thanks to the support I continue receiving here every time. Whether it's when I'm feeling like I can't go on, or when I've blogged random thoughts. The Nope pledge helps me tide over 24 hours each day, most of the days are decent, and then some are not, but I consciously keep repeating to myself nope throughout the day. The wealth of information on the site to identify this addiction we are fighting and ways to fight it have also been key. Know thine enemy they say, and I believe that. Another amazing bonus is that I've made such good friends on here, people who I've not even met, but who understand me a better than a lot of people I've known for a while. I am so so glad I got on the train So thank you to each and every one of you for making me stick it out. Like my title says - 7 months down, forever to go!!!
  13. Congrats on a well earned one year of being smoke and stink free.
  14. Congratulations Kdad, good on you for sticking to your quit. Your daily NOPEs are amazing and so is your commitment.
  15. In case you haven't realised already (and maybe that's why I am late to the post so I can act as a reminder), YOU ARE AWESOME!!! You're caring, responsible and loving. You're bigger than your problems, because inspite of being questioned innumerable times on your responsibilities, you've grit your teeth and gone on and done your duty. I understand parental pressure, considering where I come from, parents definitely play a huge part in our lives and decisions for as long as they can, and I can understand the feeling of learning you've disappointed your parent. But I totally agree with everyone who's mentioned that for some people, whatever you do is never enough, and that's their problem, not yours Linda. Please stay strong, be gentle with yourself. You are brilliant, beautiful, caring and that's more than a lot of human beings on this planet are. You're a star Linda, don't let anything or anyone dim your light.
  16. Holy Cow Batman... Congratulations on 5 fabulous years smoke free. Amazing achievement. Hats off!!!

  20. Nope, Thought for the day: What you resist, persists. What you accept, transforms. I accept I am an addict, and I work towards transforming myself every day.

  22. Well well well, look where we are Kate... Good on you for sticking it out through the days from hell that you went through. You handled your craves admirably by writing about them on the blogs, being on the forum to ensure you're not leaving anything to chance. That points to the dedication you have for the quit. Congratulations on month 1, looking forward to wishing you for many more months and years to come.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
