Daily exercise log for everyone :)
d2e8b8 replied to Frezflops's topic in Exercising & Healthy Living
@Katgirl Love that! I tried to go trail running the other night and it's a different kind of difficult (to road running) and my legs felt tired quite soon. I needed some of that attitude... next time I'll show me :). -
Love shrimps, exp. jumbo ones. Enjoy brussel sprouts in small qty. Sorry.

Hi Anita, welcome and Congratulations for the decision to be free and not be a slave to nicotine the master. I apologize but if you took a puff, it resets the clock to day 1. Unless you can be brutally honest about this, there will always be the odd puff that allows you to 'retain' the quit .... except it won't. The only place it will lead to is a 2nd puff then a 3rd etc. I truly want you to succeed and feel it's important to keep the line straight and simple ... there's no in-between.

@Steven Drojensky, Sorry to hear it. But also happy that you're right back at it. As others have mentioned, please try to come to the forum before you smoke. The thing is the craving only lasts a few minutes. If you post an SOS, people will jump in and help you get past the crave. Just take a moment to post the SOS. The craving passes in a a few minutes and you'll be glad you kept your quit and proud of it too. Again, happy you're here and doing it. Stay strong. -
Hi Linda, I hesitate to speak because the situation is so sensitive and delicate that I fear I'll say something to make it worse (which happens to be what I do quite often it seems). I'll just say this - do you want to face this situation a slave to nicotine or a master of it? When I was going through my own issues in life (and I was angry about a lot of things), the one thing I decided I wouldn't allow was to be a slave to addiction and used my anger to make it my enemy and fight it. I hope you find a way that works for you to fight it also.
-
@Robbie, well done. Ice cream any day. It sounds delicious. Great to see you're getting stronger and able to fight back.

Good job @GetBack26844462.

Good to see you back L4L. The 2016 group seems to be doing the vanishing/ reappearing act.

Congratulations on 5 years Jillar! You have been an inspiration to many of us here. I was having coffee in the backyard and a bunny was playing around quite close to my legs totally unafraid of the human. Guess I can only look at bunnies fondly now. Thank you for everything you do.

Don't know if I can predict what I'd do if I knew I had 4 weeks to live. An extra 2 days may not be that much motivation when in your mind its a choice between living 4 weeks happily doing what you like vs living 4 weeks plus 2 days in withdrawal (or torture).

@jillar so sorry to hear this. I wasn't aware as I was dealing with my own life curveballs and didn't make my way here for some time. You're one of the nicest people I've met (or rather haven't met) and since I was a few months behind you, your journey was an inspiration to me right from the beginning. I know I should probably share my own story of the last couple of years to at least show how it's possible to keep your quit in the face of life because you never know who needs to hear it as it may benefit someone tackle their own challenges but the wounds are still too raw and I'm too chicken to share something so deeply personal. I suppose they're not able to say if you can get better and get off the oxygen any time. I would like to encourage you to go out and live your life regardless of how people react or you think they might react. It's your life to live and make the most of each moment because they all count and they're all precious.

Awesome, Dianne, what a wonderful post.

@Katgirl, you're such a great example. This is how it's done and you're doing it. Well done!
