  1. Nope! Nope!
  2. @StevenHere, such a great post. Well done! You're doing all the right things, walking etc. For me, I decided it was too risky to leave it to chance. I mean, if I got into a situation like that and wasn't ready, it would likely lead to a bad outcome. So I decided to prepare and practice on my own terms. Decided to go and join the smoke buddies deliberately while they smoked. I think since it was done as an exercise, it was possible to stay on top of the situation without giving in and of course it helped going forward cause those muscles were already strong. Go for it buddy. What else is the saved money for?
  3. @Cbdave, did you mean Sun? Nope!
  4. d2e's quit (and owner) both alive and kicking so far.
  5. Well done @Kate18 in fighting it off, great spirit and determination. Perhaps this thread will inspire others to post their own SOS and save their quit. Good to know, next time we will recommend it early, or perhaps save it on a post-it on your fridge. I feel like eating an entire ice cream too .
  6. No kidding, I have good reason ....
  7. The question was genuine - I truly thought they were personal messages. Maybe they've always been there and didn't pay attention (or perhaps it's only recently someone started using the feature).
  8. @Cbdave, great post.. At this point in the quit I don't really need a daily NOPE but at my core I'm an addict and Nope remains important.
  9. @Kate18 Glad you posted here. That tells me you don't really want to smoke - after all, you've got such a great quit going. Feel free to post here what you're going through, it might help you cope.
  10. Got it! Somehow posting something to the moderators doesn't seem to be as daunting. It's having to dream up a topic that's worthy of a thread starter - that's the difficult part. Did you say you're a singing machine in front of a bunch of drunks? Any chance it's on youtube?
  11. Looks to be personal messages.
  12. The trail muscles seem to be starting to get better, tonight's run wasn't so bad. Maybe the lower temp after the rain helped. It was good to be able to keep the pace reasonably up.
  13. I think you guys have helped me earn the next rank by replying to this thread. The promotion was waiting for me when I logged on so it would have to be what you did rather than anything I did because I had not done anything yet. THANK YOU THANK YOU. I can now join the crime peeps. Prefer the diamond heist over pizza takeover personally - you know, just go big if you're going to go bad.
  14. @Linda, hope you're feeling better. Glad you posted here first.
  15. @Cbdave, hope all good. Nope!
  16. Matchsticks will work also.
  17. Answer away @Kris. I sleep late as well plus tomorrow (or today now) is a holiday so I could go really late. I can see the board has been good for you in some ways. Generally, when people post often, it's usually a good sign that the quit will be successful. Doesn't mean that quiet people will not but, you know, generally. Not sure which part of the world you're from but house prices here are through the roof.
  18. Guys, please don't finish all the crimes by yourselves. I'm trying hard to join you.
  19. @Kris, your neighborhood sounds like the place I'd like to move to.
  20. @Gus, Sounds like you may be starting to enjoy the job a tiny little bit. If that's the case then isn't it wonderful. I remember the day you posted when you were still interviewing.
  21. @Gus, Congratulations on the job! I was thinking the other day when I read about your job that you're brave to be willing to spend a full day with pre-school kids. I would be terrified of entering that class and yes, for sure would feel harried and agitated. Kids have always been able to bully me and I don't have a clue how to respond other than to let them. Admire your courage for doing what you're doing and surviving it without giving in. Hope to see more updates.
  22. If you run out, remember there are neighbors ... on the same side of the street AND other side of the street. Hopefully, they're nice and will offer you food on their own. If not .... well, there are other ways of getting to their pantry. Sounds like an idea.
  23. Nope!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
