  1. As they kept increasing prices, switched to unfiltered, cut the pack in the middle to create twice as many cigs. Smoked them down to the butt holding a corner of the cig by the fingernails .... and thought it was smart. Also since I was 'only' smoking 1/2 a cig at a time, it was healthy smoking. How we twist ourselves up to feel good about this.
  2. Nope!
  3. Note to self - it's good to carry all the tools to fix a flat but carry a mask if you wish to buy coffee. Reached destination coffee shop and decided to stop for a coffee and snack ... no mask. Had to request someone to buy a coffee for me - and they looked really suspicious ... until I offered the cash. Didn't feel like asking them to ALSO buy a donut so had a bar that was in the saddlebag. The thing with these bars is that they are the most awful tasting bars because if they're good, they don't last for the ride.
  4. Congratulations on 2 months, Katgirl!
  5. @Linda, you do deserve a badge. Not for ranting but a couple of other reasons. - For posting here first - And your quit being stronger than your trigger so you were able to say 'Not an SOS' - that's so awesome. You're doing really well, Every time you face these triggers and overcome them, your muscles to overcome triggers become stronger. When I had newly quit, I used to follow the quit journals of quitters ahead of me and it was very inspiring and learning to be able to follow their journey, especially people who quit just before you and after you. I had mine too (on a different site). I don't see too many quit journals here - perhaps something to consider. The closeness and bonds you form with the shared experiences is very real - it is one of THE hardest things we will do in our lives and the people you do it with always remain special.
  6. The weekend's supposed to be perfect weather for biking. She got a wash, lube and is all set for tomorrow.
  7. Interesting - I'm getting a 403 Forbidden. The laptop was updated today with a MS update so not sure if that's playing a part.
  8. the link didn't open for me ... hope it's safe.
  9. Lovely pond and landscaping, very tasteful.
  10. Congratulations on 6 months, Linda!
  11. Congratulations on 1 month, @Steven Drojensky. That's a great milestone.
  12. that's nicotine's way, isn't it? Waiting to ambush you - hey, it's 6 months, wow, let's celebrate with ... a smoke. It really is important to stay on guard at these milestones. You're doing great with the quit.
  13. @Robbie, there used to be threads about smoking all the time in the past as @jillar already pointed out. Now that you posted one, it does seem odd that there hasn't been one for some time. It's normal - I dreamed as well a few times and it is a relief to find it was a dream Early in the quit, dreams can be quite vivid (and I'm sure there's a thread explaining that).
  14. Congratulations on 5 months AceWhite.
  15. Congratulations on 8 years, Nancy!
  16. Congratulations on 3 months, Robbie!
  17. Congratulations on 8 months!
  18. Congratulations on 10 years!
  19. You 'could' NOPE for that.
  20. Sounds like it's time to come up with a formula .... If x = initial price y = current price z = number of years (assuming we're still alive in spite of smoking at the same rate, otherwise adjust z accordingly).
  21. Please do be more careful with preparation h next time. Perhaps try to be a little less happy while clicking please. Well, 2 confessions and 1 crime - now who's the 'real' culprit. Was thinking it could have been a disk space issue resulting in catastrophic failure.
  22. Have no idea where the savings went - there 'should' be all this extra money in the bank except there isn't. Should we be adjusting the ticker to reflect current prices - seems unfair that newbies get to save 'more' money than oldies.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
