  2. Could be they were strong coffee
  3. I spent some time Pondering this and what I came up was this: Most of the Die hard Ill smoke until they pull the cigarette from my cold dead fingers are dead. The others like my self have run their bodies into the ground and are now paying for it and for the youngers its just a stinky nasty thing that dirty old people did and are out vaping Fruit loops. Now if I were to Think more o it All the BS laws and the stigma applied to smoking in California have succeeded in pressuring and deterring people from smoking or into quitting smoking as a way to blend in. So all this leaves me to believe that in the very near future California will be the first state to illegalize smoking and become the first none smoking state of the union. now thats all I can stands cause I can't stands no more
  4. Thank you I still have the anxiety and competition reward craves. Not so bad but still there.

Well iwas right! what was at work was at work and nothing was going to change that fact. 7. Linda: Your at the healing stage this is where the benefit of quitting really kicks in, Hereis the link to the above it has links to the Surgeon Generals info, super stuff to read "Don't have that much time left Opah? K, Como? Hey Girl i Smoked since I was 15 or so, just turned 62 had a heart attack and finally made up my mind to get smart. There is always time !
  8. Here you go Linda a little time table of your bodies healing abilities. The body's ability to mend is beauty to behold! After ending all nicotine and tobacco use, within ... 20 minutes Your blood pressure, pulse rate and the temperature of your hands and feet have returned to normal. 8 hours Remaining nicotine in your bloodstream has fallen to 6.25% of normal peak daily levels, a 93.75% reduction. 12 hours Your blood oxygen level has increased to normal. Carbon monoxide levels have dropped to normal. 24 hours Anxieties have peaked in intensity and within two weeks should return to near pre-cessation levels. 48 hours Damaged nerve endings have started to regrow and your sense of smell and taste are beginning to return to normal. Cessation anger and irritability have peaked. 72 hours Your entire body will test 100% nicotine-free. Over 90% of all nicotine metabolites (the chemicals nicotine breaks down into) have passed from your body via your urine. Symptoms of chemical withdrawal have peaked in intensity, including restlessness. Unless use cues have been avoided, the number of cue induced crave episodes experienced during any quitting day have peaked for the "average" ex-user. Lung bronchial tubes leading to air sacs (alveoli) are beginning to relax in recovering smokers. Breathing is becoming easier and your lung's functional abilities are improving. 5 - 8 days The "average" ex-smoker is down to experiencing just three cue induced crave episodes per day. Although we may not be "average" and although minutes may feel like hours when normal cessation time distortion combines with the body's panic response, it is unlikely that any single episode will last longer than 3 minutes. Keep a clock handy and time the episode to maintain an honest perspective on time. 10 days The "average" ex-user is down to encountering less than two crave episodes per day. 10 days to 2 weeks Recovery has likely progressed to the point where your addiction is no longer doing the talking. Blood circulation in your gums and teeth are now similar to that of a non-user. 2 to 4 weeks Cessation related anger, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, impatience, insomnia, restlessness and depression have ended. If still experiencing any of these symptoms get seen and evaluated by your physician. 2 weeks to 3 months Your heart attack risk has started to drop. Your lung function has noticeably improved. If your health permits, sample your circulation and lung improvement by walking briskly, climbing stairs or running further or faster than normal. 21 days The number of acetylcholine receptors, which were up-regulated in response to nicotine's presence in the frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital, basal ganglia, thalamus, brain stem and cerebellum regions of your brain have now substantially down-regulated. Receptor binding has returned to levels seen in the brains of non-smokers (2007 study). 3 weeks to 3 months Your circulation has substantially improved. Walking has become easier. Your chronic cough, if any, has likely disappeared. If not, get seen by a doctor, and sooner if at all concerned, as a chronic cough can be a sign of lung cancer. 4 weeks Plasma suPAR is a stable inflammatory biomarker that helps predict development of diseases ranging from diabetes to cancer in smokers. A 2016 study found that within 4 weeks of quitting smoking, with or without NRT, that suPAR levels in 48 former smokers had fallen from a baseline smoking median of 3.2 ng/ml to levels "no longer significantly different from the never smokers' values" (1.9 ng/ml) 8 weeks Insulin resistance in smokers has normalized despite average weight gain of 2.7 kg (2010 SGR, page 384). 1 to 9 months Any smoking related sinus congestion, fatigue or shortness of breath has decreased. Cilia have regrown in your trachea (windpipe) thereby increasing the ability to sweep dirt and mucus out of your lungs. Your body's overall energy has increased. 11 months Smoking decreases the thickness of the brain's outer layer, the cortex. Smoking induced cortical thinning is associated with poor decision making, risk taking, a lack of impluse control, early dementia, and nearly 14% of Alzheimer’s cases worldwide. According to a 2015 study, it takes 0.9 years (10.8 months) without smoking to recover from the cortical thinning effect of each pack-year of smoking. Congratulations, your cortex is growing thicker and the quality of your thoughts, decisions and actions has improved. 1 year Your excess risk of coronary heart disease, heart attack and stroke has dropped to less than half that of a smoker. 5 years Your risk of a subarachnoid hemorrhage has declined to 59% of your risk while still smoking (2012 study). If a female ex-smoker, your risk of developing diabetes is now that of a non-smoker (2001 study). 5 to 15 years Your risk of stroke has declined to that of a non-smoker. 10 years Your risk of being diagnosed with lung cancer is between 30% to 50% of that for a continuing smoker (2005 study). Risk of death from lung cancer has declined by almost half if you were an average smoker (one pack per day). Risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus and pancreas have declined. Risk of developing diabetes for both men and women is now similar to that of a never-smoker (2001 study). 12.5 years Fifty percent of the lost thickness of the brain's outer layer -- the cortex -- has been restored in a 30 pack-year ex-smoker (2015 study). 13 years The average smoker lucky enough to live to age 75 has 5.8 fewer teeth than a non-smoker (1998 study). But by year 13 after quitting, your risk of smoking induced tooth loss has declined to that of a never-smoker (2006 study). 15 years While smokers and ex-smokers have more visceral fat, a larger ratio of visceral to subcutaneous adipose tissue and a higher incidence of elevated plasma triglyceride levels, hyperglycaemia and the metabolic syndrome than nonsmokers, according to a 2011 study, after 15 years the ex-smoker's fat ratios and risks are comparable to those of a never-smoker. 15 years Your risk of coronary heart disease is now that of a person who has never smoked. Your risk of pancreatic cancer has declined to that of a never-smoker (2011 study - but note a 2nd pancreatic study making an identical finding at 20 years). 20 years If a female, your excess risk of death from all smoking related causes, including lung disease and cancer, has now reduced to that of a never-smoker (2008 study). Risk of pancreatic cancer has also declined to that of a never-smoker (2011 study). 25 years Congratulations, if a 30 pack-year ex-smoker, the thickness of your brain's cortex has been fully restored to that of a never-smoker (2015 study). Multiply the number of pack-years you smoked by 0.9 to determine the number of years it will take to fully restore your cortex. So long as we stop our self-destruction in time!
  9. it is so good when you finally STOP COUGHING UP THAT CRAP !

  14. Remember the nasty teeth commercials and the gross pictures o the cigarette boxes in the UK?
  15. Do you think there are less smokers and there for less smokers quitting ? or do you think there are just less people trying to quit? or it is all my imagination and its all the same smokers verses none smokers (quitters)? It seems to me that there seems to be less emphasis on smoking, remember the snaking smoke creeping in on the Baby in the crib and the one sneaking into the vents of the apartments. just don't see that many any more. maybe it just doesn't bug me ass much now that I am quit ? I have to admit I don't see nearly as many people smoking anymore, a lot more young one vaping fruit loops or some other flavor/smell. What do you think ?
  16. Hey Ace white: A while back I did, not no more. CBDave Never thought about 63 being 21 for the third time ? I like that ! Now that all the cake is gone I can get back to eating proper, and taking care of my self

Just wish I could spend much more of it hunting.
  19. Thank you guys, very much appreciated.
  20. Couple Friends/ relatives came over to give me a hand with my Game room remodel, I had thought that both of them Quit smoking WRONG ! What was worse Both smoked my favorite smoke, Camel Wides. Both also know There is no smoking in the house, so as we are working I can smell the smoke, coming up from the back yard and on Carmen's clothes. I was trying to convince myself that it doesn't smell good, but it did. Carmen and Monic were good and kept far way from me but it was still there, some how I got my head onto thinking only about the roof repair we were doing and the smell of dinner cooking coming up the stove fan vent. Once I got involved about the job we were doing I was good, it was just another smell that really didn't bother me anymore. It felt good not to have that craving or at least to be able to remove it and replace it with something else. But I di fell bad of my friends knowing the harm that is waiting down the road for them. But Yes another hurtle jumped Feeling really good about where I am at and about my quit.
  21. My Friday is over, you all have a safe and smoke free 3 days.. BYE
  22. This is one of the most important lessons we should learn in life, we heard the sayings all of our lives if at first you don't succeed that maybe we forget it is valid, not just a old saying.
  23. OK this morning wasn't the glorious awakening I should of had, but not to be denoed my great day I deserve I suck it up and get up an hour early. Make Breakfast for my Mom and I and it is wonderful sausage and Taters peppered, tasty and tender morsels, coffee rich and aromatic and tons of time to get ready, let me OOOOOss into my Day. Showered Happy and on my way to work and oooh no my morning movement is calling and calling NOW. I make it to work in the nick of time and spell relief. Again not to be denied my great day I figure that I am at least a couple of pounds lighter and have a spring in my step. And now off to make My living. you are probalbly wondering what this has to do with my quit or smoking at all, well here it is. After yesterdays hard and demanding urges and me being able to use my tools to over come them I thought to my self why leave my tool bag in the closet ? I should have it with me ready to fix any situation, such as a not so good start to my morning. I took the negatives and if I couldn't find a positive twist on them I simply did not allow them the power to mess up my day or to bum me out.. I kept looking for the sunny warm good feeling day and I finally did find it. Make your Day, don't let the day make you !
  24. Thank you guys, couple more hours and my day will be done I will be home safe and secure. I was happy to have the tools left in my bag, haven't had to open it in a while.
  25. Woke up feeling great again this morning, organized my Meds, made breakfast for my mom and I and got t work. work going so well I decided to buy my crew steak and shrimp for lunch and then it happened ! After eating all full and content instead of wanting a nap it was a smoke, I couple see it smell it taste it and really, really want it. Thank god I do not have anything stashed. My BPM have went fro 72 to 90 and the want is strong, , very strong. I thought it would have passed by now, I pulled out all my old tricks sucking on a sugar free Carmel, sipping on a coffee and here i am attempting to write my way out. It seems to be working, man that was almost an hour, haven't had a crave like that since the first week. Not sure if I should finish my steak? I don't think it was the food, more like the satisfaction of a job well done and the conversation of a top notch crew the situation put me back where it was normal to celebrate with a smoke. OK heart rate is slowing back down, the want is almost all the way gone 1/2 a cup of coffee to go. WHOOO HOOO I think I could use some of those endorphins we were talking about earlier OK candy it is.

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
