Man I am feeling very grounded today, Happy for where I am and where I am heading. Smoking doesn't even have a thought, God Fresh crisp Air, puppy breath, a bay's sour milk head. All smells I am still looking forward to enjoying. My baby's and Grand baby's will remember Opah's British Sterling and for those who will hunt with me Our Baby wipe bath smell. My children hug me and hold on now, they don't hold their breathe any more. So much has been added to my life and it has gotten to where I must take off my boots to count them. Mornings such as today my the whole process of quitting worth while. That first hug that they hold on and whisper that they love you and you get the second and third squeeze before they let go. I am Full, happy and looking at the future with eyes wide open, eager for what is ahead of me. Sorry guys I could just ramble on and on right now . I FEEL GOOD !

"You have your grandfather's wisdom I'm sure he is proud of you" You know I believe we have a serious shortage of wise Loving old Grandfathers. I only hope that with my quit I live long enough and set the example well enough For my grand children. If you think about it you can be that Grand father or mother you so dearly loved, Years down the line your grand baby's will be talking about the Grand Parent they so dearly loved, and they will became a image of you and pass the love on. Such a beautiful Past, present and future that we have control of ! My grand father The future Grand Parents Such an awesome responsibility Dont you Think ? Smoke free and health for he future grandparents !

Thank you Linda, It is My pleasure to assist where I can. My grandfather was a very wise man and I loved him dearly, he always had these sayings to help me get thru life and most have stuck with me. Lets see if you can decipher the wisdom of a couple of them. You never mow your neighbors yard until you have mowed yours. Think and dream large, it is always better to have too much than not enough. Just a couple I have at the top of my head

Linda I found with long and tedious tasks that if I just get started and keep telling my self I got this much done and in a bit I got even more done anf then one of those times I going to say hey I am done. I also found by doing things with People that don't smoke or even never smoked it helped me figure out what to do with the spare time instead of thinking about smoking. the best thing was I decided I could make those unique water fountains and wind chimes. so when I am out my head and eyes are now looking for thing I can make a fountain out of and then making them. Busy hands and mind help fill the time away from the smoking thoughts I have developed.

What was your best or worse smoking dream ?
Opah replied to Opah's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
I agree with Johnny the ones that you dream that you smoke really can seem real, I have wokw up with my lungs hurting and could still taste the cigarettes. Takes a couple of minutes before you realize it was a dream -

Dream, a new healthy smoke came out and was all the rave, But when I watched the people smoking it a snake of smoke came out when they exhaled. Frantically I ran around trying to tell people the smoke was bad but no one would listen. After a couple of weeks the media started reporting people missing by the thousands, and the rest was me running from the aligns that where harvesting us for slave labor, using the smoke as a mind control. woke up sweating and tired. i think this was from our discussion on the rip off of Jill's AC yesterday and that I was wearing a new CPAP Mask and Machine

Yes it is that is why you need to keep track of which one you had up your nose, unless your into bogger/mint flavor!

I vote for a trigger of past memory's that your addiction has romanticized and planted in your sub-couscous to catch you off guard at a time when you don't expect it. Basically a time bomb in your cybernetic net work ! Yes I listen to Alex Jones ! It is a Nicosperisy Theory of mine

Take a drag off of one of these babies instead of sniffing it in the nose, Guaranteed you'll have fresh breath and the desire to puff on anything will go away.

My new thing is those Mexican chili suckers with the Lock Jaw sour stuff inside, not sugar free but a killer flavor rush.

They robbed you Jill ! They call it the Harmless Oxygen cigarette ? have you seen it ?

This is where you long timers can really help with what you have substituted for a smoke in trigger situations. IE: Jill's smoke free invisible fake none nicotine OK OK I forgot the Name but you all get my drift. Such as That cold foggy morning sitting on the Refuge porch drinking a hot cup of coffee and puffing on my pipe or a cigar, I kinda substituted toast bread to crew on, did it work yes for that one time looking more towards a cinnamon bread stick next time or a jerky stick cheese sticks work well. Driving I have substituted the Vitamin water for a beer and been cold turkey with the smoke was doing sunflower seed but my tongue kept swelling up from the salt. So what have you long timers come up with as substitute and what was the trigger situation ?

we got to give John a Pass, it was the first time we had met, we had over lapping Game warden days and he came a day early to get away. he was unaware of my quit and heart issue at the time. I had mentioned about Me hankering for a stogie on cold foggy mornings like it was and he tried to accommodate me. Yes it did challenge the bejeaves out of me, first time in months I had even laid eyes on a cigar let alone hold one.

was doing fine and then out of nowhere John Hands me a pack of cigars YIKES! My mind starts to Jump back into smoking mode, I had earlier put away a trigger of being on the pourch the smell of fresh rained on dry dirt man that and hot asphalt just rained on smell great. but there I am with a picture of me taking a deep drag off of a sweet Blue berry cigar.! WOOOOO John Thank you but no thank you comes out all squeaky and loud I quit and I had a a heart attack ! but you don't inhale them its not like smoking he said. that's all right no thank. so close I came almost validated not inhaling this was a test of will and devotion to myself. last place I can think of that would have strong triggers for me, at least that I can think of Hey Guys we all have those moments the only thing that save me was when those cigars hit my hand and my eye fixed on them I remember terror shooting thru me shear terror. It was like when you were out with some friends had a beer or two, you know your ot drunk and then the flashing lights go off! that moment when your heart stops or skips a beat before you can think it was that kind of terror.
