  5. Hurrah! That's me got a month under my belt, the time has flown by. I'm very thankful to have my quit buddies here and a place to come to be accountable. I would never want to bash the NHS, I'm very proud of the NHS, but the stop smoking service nurse has never called me back. I think what pisses me off is, I have tools, I know what I need to do, but what if there is some person that has never tried to quit before, they need help, and i wouldn't want them to be let down. I've got the nurses number as she told me to save it the one time she called, I've thought about calling her and telling her, her service is crap lol but I won't. I'm in a ratty stage in my quit but I find it quite funny. I rarely ask for help in work but I did today and got an absolute pants response from my boss and I was so raging but I just replied - That was no help whatsoever, but thanks anyway LOL I hit send then thought, what am I doing ha. And I know it's me just being a bit more ratty and getting annoyed easier. The NHS nurse will get an earful if she does decide to call anytime soon But I'm doing well team, as I've said before, I'm just quietly getting on with it. I'm not finding it difficult, long may that continue.

  8. Hi @Kimberbee I really thought it was a typo and you meant patches, ive never heard of pouches! Im so glad you posted an SOS and are feeling better. It sounds like you are stressing about the surgery and somehow your brain made the leap to I need cigs! Its funny how our brains work. Is this your first surgery since quitting? If so, this is yet another first for you in your amazing one year quit. Once you get through this smoke free youll feel awesome, theres nothing you cant get through! As you said just getting it out how you are feeling has made you feel better, so please keep sharing. Is there anything else you can do to try and help, I think id try and do things that help relax me, like some gentle exercise if your health permits, do things you enjoy if you can.
  9. Hey everyone, just checking in to let you know im ticking along very nicely here. I seem to be just queitly getting on with it. I like doing the daily nope pledge, i was never a big noper before, but it really sets me up for the day, its a great wee tool. Im not missing cigarettes, ive got more cash in the bank, my skins looking brighter, my house isnt a stinky smoke den anymore, its all good. Now I think about it, I reckon those fleeting thoughts of its fag time, are getting less and less. Im still a bit anxious, but the gym helps with that. Im coming up to the month mark and pretty chuffed with myself
  10. wow Jo, congrats! Im kicking myself, I should be in the 5 year club with you, im an idiot. Well done you, and thanks so much for sticking around here and helping us all. Are you going to treat yourself today? I know everything is expensive in Oz, how much money you have saved not buying the stinky fags in 5 years??

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
