  1. Hiya sunny, sorry to hear the bad news. But like others im really glad you shared this with us. Ive had many a quit before where i 'secret smoked' and those 'quits' were obviously doomed and did not last long. So being honest is great. Having an honest quit is paramount. Id just chuck your fags and get back on the train! No time like the present. Dont be too hard on yourself, i reckon everyone here has tried and failed in the past. Just learn from it. I know hindsight is a marvellous thing but if you had posted an sos you wouldn't have smoked! Ahhhh! Look forward to seeing you back

  3. could you not do the classic talk to the hand sign when they piss you off?
  4. Have a glass of wine or two always does the trick for me. Dont try to go to sleep too early. Lavender oil on pillow, i have a spray and it does relax me. Cool bedroom, sleep with window open. Exercise in the evening. Im not a great sleeper but these are the wee things i do to help myself. Im actually sleeping better since i quit as not lighting up fags during the night when i wake up, i just go back to sleep.

  13. Just a wee cx works class after work. Thats two thirty min sessions this week. Ill need to up the anti tomorrow.
  14. Being in denial was the only thing that stopped me from quitting. Not believing /understanding/realising that smoking kills. It took a young mum i know to get diagnosed with lung cancer to make me see the light. I quit in the week she was diagnosed. She died less than three months later, probably closer to two (i think i was in the 70's day wise). I think it no longer being a stranger that got lung cancer was very emotive for me. I quit spur of the moment. And when she died months later that just made my quit even stronger. I dont wanna be that woman. My reasoning above has allowed me a relatively easy quit so ive said it before and ill say it again....read up about all the damage smoking does but also how your body can repair itself. And read that over and over and over. Not being in denial is the simple key to my quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
