I was a little girl really when I fell in love with Freddie Mercury. I got round to watching this and I sobbed. The man was a gift to us all but the whole of Queen literally rock. I was heartbroken when Freddie died and the film brought all that emotion back. Can't praise the actors enough in the film. @Doreensfree did you know the guy who played Roger Taylor was Ian Beales son in EastEnders. I didn't even realise it was him

Did drivers get worse when you quit smoking?
Lilly replied to JB 883's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
I don't think anyones driving got worst but my temper did. Stupid things would turn me all Rambo like someone not indicating at a roundabout. Sounds like you've just become more angrier too -
Oh my god I am so sorry to read this. I don't know if you are really ready for work yet. You have no idea how you are going to feel until you get back in the train unfortunately. You're swinging between sadness and anger and that in itself is a big burden for anyone. I have zero tolerance for anyone that gets behind the wheel of a car (or other transport) drunk and kills other people, but you are an innocent person caught up in a tragedy. You need help as you may suffer with post traumatic stress so give work a miss until you see a professional. Your company will understand. I really believe if you were going to smoke you would have done it last Friday. You're whole life changed in a heartbeat so it's no surprise you're struggling with everything. Take good care of yourself xxx

I hear you @WeegieWoman and I appreciate the honest input. My daughter is the oldest and she bosses the boys about. They just do whatever they are told even as grown men lol. We all have a good relationship but the three of them have a great relationship. The flip side is I've put everyone but me first my whole life. Every choice I've ever made I have always thought about how my decisions will affect other people. While all my children, family and friends are living their dreams I've always made sure I'm the thoughtful wife (not now obviously) and mother. I'm nearer 60 than I am 50 and I want to live some of my own dreams now. I don't want to leave this world not having done anything for me. My kids are each the glue that holds their own families together now

I couldn't deal with the spiders and snakes there. My kids are in their late twenties and thirties so have full lives off their own. I will keep my house here so I can come home whenever I like. If I moved to say Scotland it would take them 7 hours to drive up to see me. If I move abroad it would take less time so I'm almost closer being in another country lol

Satdee Poll: Best home remedy for a cold/when sick?
Lilly replied to notsmokinjo's topic in Socializing
Does anyone else eat crisps/chips to almost scratch their throat when they have a cold. Is it just me -
Oh wow - bringing your quit date forward is wonderful news. Another member has just done that and they are doing great. Keep thinking of those lovely teeth of yours and protect them while you can

When is your quit day? 50 plus Increasing your intake just before you quit is going to make it harder. Jillar advises to stop smoking in your regular places before you quit to help you so maybe try that. You'll love it here and get lots of encouragement so welcome to this lovely forum

Anyone can change their name by going to their profile, I could change mine now if I wanted. If I thought you were a troll I wouldn't have said anything, I would have just reported it Anyway, back to your quit. Well done firstly on sticking to quitting today. It would have been easy to change your mind and go back to your original quit date but you didn't. Shows how committed you are. I think it's pretty normal to think of smoking after meals etc. These are the triggers we need to get rid off. After a few days you won't think of smoking after every meal. The trigger will get weaker. I'm a great believer in facing everything and not avoiding anything. I live with two smokers. I don't ask them to hide their cigarettes nor do I ask them not to smoke around me. The problem with asking them those things is nobody else in the world is going to do that for me so why not get used to it from day 1. We are all in this together and all the quitter oldies will help with any concerns. If you need any advice ask them. You've nearly finished that first day

I get caterers to make my dinner party food and then take all the credit for it
