  1. Yep, I've heard all that. AND the rolling eyes when I try to say how frustrating it is to not be able to gain weight.
  2. @Shymaid, everything you're experiencing is normal in the early part of our quits. Listen to your body and if its hungry, eat. Tired, sleep, etc. It's working extra hard right now to clean out all those years of smoking. The dizziness, or brain fog can sometimes be helped with sweets. I craved soft peppermint puffs my whole first year quit lol. You're doing great! PS. I know the pain of not being able to gain weight, I've experienced it my whole life and it IS just as bad as someone who can't lose weight!

  7. When I smoked I drank a couple Dr. Peppers daily. After I quit and my taste buds came back the flavor changed and I quit drinking them. Its been years now since I've had a Dr Pepper. I also naturally went down from two cups of coffee to just one and sometimes just a half a cup.

  9. Mindset really does have a lot to do with how easy or how hard your quit is going to be. You've got a great outlook and sound completely ready to put this addiction behind yoj so I'm sure you'll find it much easier than you feared.

  14. Welcome aboard @Shymaid and congratulations on taking back your life! I too was a lurker on my first forum until I found that reason to sign up and post and boy am I glad I did. The support you will receive by us in all aspects of your journey will help you immensely so when you start over thinking things post and we'll get you back on track As far as being worried this forum may create more triggers goes, I suppose it could and probably has to a few but the support far outweighs the risk of that happening. Plus we have lots of Social forums to help keep your mind busy and off of cigarettes so be sure to check those out

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
