  9. Hi @Rory69, welcome to quittrain and congrats on that awesome 8 year quit! I remember how special I felt when I first quit and someone with a long quit would reply to my post. So your support will be appreciated by many here I'm sure Hopefully your friend will find us when she's ready as we all know that in order to be successful you have to be ready to quit.....
  10. Congratulations on quitting CanDo, I remember my first day doing the same thing as you did, looking for smokeable butts. A Clue I got about three weeks into my quit was using an air cigarette to trick my mind into thinking it was getting the real thing. I just pretended to hold an invisible cigarette in my fingers and went through the motions of "smoking" it. I took deep drags too. And it worked GREAT! I did that for the first three or four months whenever a strong crave would come. Others have used cut straws, pens, etc. Maybe it'll help you too?
  11. r@WeegieWoman and @notsmokinjo, according to their menu: Olive oil, herbs and lots of minced garlic
  12. @WeegieWoman, I'm not sure what's in it at klondikes and it's the best pizza joint here. And it doesn't give me heartburn like red sauce does
  13. Here's a virtual pizza for you @Joe7, enjoy

  16. I was looking for one post when i came across this one and wanted to comment for anyone still thinking about quitting but haven't because this is one of the first advantages you'll see upon quitting. I smoked for 35 years and coughed and had to clear my throat constantly. In addition to that, I got sick 2-4 times a year. Any chest cold turned into bronchitis and a Dr visit. Since quitting, my cough was gone within two days. I did still have to clear my throat but not by coughing anymore. I've had two colds. The first about 6 months quit and instead of being down for 7-10 days, I was up and around in just a few days. The second cold was in early March of this year and was the same. Super light and quick recovery. You know, if it wasn't for threads like this, I would forget some of these awesome benefits of quitting.
  17. Congratulations on a half year quit Kermit! That's a biggie
  18. Congratulations KT, I hope you're starting to plan your one year celebration
  19. I never smoked in my house and quit smoking in my car in 2007 when I bought a new one and swore it would be smoke free. My garage though still smells on humid or rainy days. That's where I smoked and the smell is soaked into the acoustic ceiling. So I use air fresheners and spray fabreeze on the ceiling now and then when the odor is strong. Now that I don't smoke I don't hang out in the garage much anymore anyway.
  20. Hi Beazel, it's GREAT to hear from you! Glad your craft show helped solidify your quit
  21. Ah yes I too remember your quit gang grund, and now here you are 11 months later and most of your quit buddies are here with you Congratulations and I hope you do something to celebrate today

    True or False

FALSE, I think a just right amount of time. And yes @Sslip of course you can have more than just one. We've had various pinball machines, currently Gilligan isle, as well as a slot machine TNP likes to gamble?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
