  4. Yes Michelle, you must apply the same self discipline to quitting smoking as you did to quitting drugs and alcohol and you will succeed.
  5. I smoked for 35 years so I understand your concerns. I always recommend going to get a check up to ease your worries. And as an added perk you'll get all kinds of kudos from the Dr and staff once you tell them you've quit. I wouldn't waste energy on worrying about the damage done as now that you've quit your body is going to work hard at trying to fix all the damage smoking did and as long as you stay quit you won't be causing any more damage. So listen to your body. If it's craving sweets, have a sweet. Tired, rest. Etc...
  6. You should see the SOS forum first then Introductions and About Us Quit Smoking Discussions , this is the main board Vaping forum The Daily NOPE Celebrations Video Library Then the Nonsmoking Lounge with the various social forums which are great for a distraction
  7. Michelle, you can post in the main forum, quit smoking discussions, anything smoking related like this thread. We also have a vape forum now with a ton of info you may want to check out. Lots of good info there. There's no shame in using NRT's, we have a bunch of successful quitters who used them. Glad you're sticking around and reading and watching videos. Try to make a daily habit of it and let's do this
  8. Michelle you're going to have to quit caving to a crave if you want to succeed. You're going to HAVE to realize that the first month WILL suck and not give in. We have all had to go through the misery, some of us using the SOS forum to keep our quits. Stick close to the board. Vent, post, read, socialize, celebrate milestones. Do whatever it takes to help keep your mind off smoking. I found supporting others really helped not only solidify my quit but kept my mind off my misery. Instead of caving, post an SOS. We will be there to help you through it...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
