  1. Hey @Annien, your quit starts the minute you put out your last cigarette. Mine's 10:15 pm. We have tickers here that will keep track of all the time, cigarettes NOT smoked and money saved since you quit. Its great inspiration and also shows what you're giving up should you relapse.   3. Hi Annien, YES it's a GREAT way to quit! I had known for a while that I needed to quit too and just decided one day to not buy anymore. That was almost five years ago now The only REALLY important step to take is to not smoke! But as far as tips and clues go, I recommend getting yourself some sweets to suck on as our bodies seem to crave that when we first quit. Also listen to your body, it's going to go right to work to start cleaning the years of damage we did by smoking so if it's craving something, give it what it wants. And if your body needs rest, rest. We also have great articles and videos about our addiction so be sure to look at all our various forums. The stuff we feel helps the most has been pinned to the top of the forum pages. Again, congratulations on choosing to quit, you won't regret it

  11. Have you thought about fostering a pound pet so you won't be alone? They're a great comfort especially right now with the pandemic....
  12. @Linda, I had a really hard first year but now in hindsight it was by my own doing. You have to remember you're not giving anything up, you are taking your life back! You can do it, you will do it and we'll be here talking you through the rough parts and celebrating your victories Have you tried the tricks and clues we've given you? If one clue doesn't work try another, anything to keep that awesome quit you have.
  13. @Linda, what helped me keep my mind occupied and off cigarettes for a while was playing games or doing something else could hat required concentration.
  14. That's addiction @Linda and it happens to all of us. I literally thought about cigarettes 24/7 for easily the first month or two. I can still remember the first day I woke up and smoking wasn't on my mind, I even sang in the shower lol. So just trust us when we say its going to get better because its going to get so much better

Yes I agree, good job throwing those smokes away I think that early in my quit I probably would have smoked them to be honest because when I quit on May29, 2016 I actually had quit earlier in the day but proceeded to smoke every butt in every ashtray so my quit time ended up being 10:15 pm instead. Hope you enjoy the rainy weather we're getting
