  1. Is it better at your new job?
  2. @Kris, we all have regrets like that. My father and his younger brother died of Esophageal cancer and Throat cancer respectively within two years of each other and I continued to smoke. My uncle had been quit for a couple years when he was diagnose Try not to be hard on yourself, we can't undo the past but we can try to make our future better. And you're doing just that by quitting
  3. @Kris, yep pretty normal. I had it too. I've also had problems with it at other times when I have too much on my mind. What works for me is taking an OTC sleep aid. I found that just one pill a couple nights in a row was enough to take the edge off and get me back to a more normal sleep pattern. Maybe try that?
  4. I think if I knew I wouldn't be asking?
  5. Are you laughing with them or at them?

  7. Lately they've been daily, how frucked up is that?
  8. Are we still on that he tv shows?
  9. @Kris, I love how well armed you are to conquer those craves!
  10. Oh my @Kris, what a horrible year for you too! I'm so glad you have some relief now! And by quitting you will heal much quicker and slow the progression of COPD. I quit because of breathing issues too and unfortunately not in time to avoid severe emphysema You're doing great!
  11. Happy 100 days @Gus, sorry about the stress of finding a job causing craves. I'll tell you though that an employer who has a choice between a smoker and an ex smoker will almost always hire the ex smoker Its also ok to not be disgusted with the smell. It doesn't mean you're headed toward a relapse. And up until my lung failure I liked the smell of a freshly lit cigarette but the stench of stale smoke on someone.... Good luck with your job search and congratulations on your awesome 100 days!
  12. Ten years is definitely awesome!
  13. Hi @Katgirl how you been?
  14. I've discovered there's some pretty funny commercials on tv
  15. Well done @Dianne! You should be super proud of yourself for standing firm in your quit. That would have given me a huge crave when I was newly quit. You so got this
  16. Woohoo @Robbie, that is great!
  17. @Linda if you go to your profile you'll see them. Looks like they came as part of the update.
  18. I've noticed we have new badges, must be from the update.
  19. Oh that's good, sounds like you have a bunch of stuff to keep your mind occupied.

  21. Good on you for posting Steven, you sure don't want to keep doing those first couple of weeks over again! Have you tried distracting yourself with our Social threads? Maybe play a game or two or watch some funny videos? Sometimes just sucking on a candy works good too. I was stuck on soft peppermint puffs my whole first year lol. And of course there's always my JAC if all else fails! Hang tough, you got this!
  22. Welcome aboard graciegirl and congratulations on quitting! Its good to see you already taking advantage of our video forum. A lot of members have found them extremely helpful
  23. Welcome @Kris, Congratulations on four days quit! The first few days/weeks/months might suck but once past them you never have to repeat them again! We can offer you all the support to help you past them. We have members in all phases of quitting from newbies in their first year quit to old phartes who've been quit for over a year. We also have tons of great info about our addiction as well as a video library if that's more your thing.
  24. Something I could use?
  25. I know I said I want this topic focused on COPD and not me but you guys were all so kind in telling me I shouldn't be embarrassed to go out in public that I wanted you to know I took it all to heart. I also discovered oxy glasses! They're glasses that can be fitted with a prescription lens and have a cannula built into them! So no more oxygen hose across my face I really think this may be a game changer for me and part of my researching it further is thanks to all of you P.S. anyone still on the fence about quitting, this could be your future problem too.........

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
