Introduction: Back to patch after 2 1/2 months nicotine free

That would be something for your Dr to answer. Especially if you stress to him that you don't want to go backwards with the NRTs. Shame on him really.... -
You have to go to your profile and you'll see them. Then if you click on them you'll see them all as well as your ranks

Introduction: Back to patch after 2 1/2 months nicotine free
jillar replied to Julia's topic in Introductions & About Us
Welcome Julia, Congratulations on quitting. Depression or anxiety is pretty normal in the first months of quitting so I'm surprised that your Dr would recommend a step backwards instead of giving you a temporary med to help until you're farther along with your quit. Reintroducing nicotine is only going to prolong the process, you'll still have to go through it in order to get past it. But were all proof that you can! Stick close and take a look around at our various forums. Lots of good information about our addiction here -
@Kris, sorry you're having trouble playing videos. Group therapy helps lots of people so hopefully you'll find it helpful too. I've never seen an in person quit smoking support group. And if that's the reason you're looking into it you may find it hard to find in your area too. Please remember that you smoked for 40 years! So to expect to be free of this addiction in your first month or few quit just isn't realistic. Especially if you're still using NRTs. We feel it takes a full year to get past most of the triggers a year can bring. And really no one knows better how to succeed then a group of former smokers who have right?! You can expect to feel uncomfortable and have pretty good craves at the minimum for the first month. My whole first year was hard, but doable because I listened to all those who came before me. I'm glad you're staying because I feel like you need us more then ever, we got your back girl!

My California mom and dad went to Vegas last week to meet her sister and bro in law. All of them are in their 70's and fully vaccinated. Her bro in law ended up with Covid! He's obese and has other health issues that put him in the high risk group. Thankfully because he was vaccinated he doesn't have a severe case. Lots of coughing but his oxygen SATs are staying nice and high at 97. Be careful out there peeps, vaccinated or not, no one is 100% immune from this

I've also made a weekly blog of great posts written by our members that addresses a lot of the early quit stuff. So check them out if you get a chance, maybe something there will be helpful as well. Oh and our video forum if you rather watch then read -
Wouldn't licking a lollipop be more enjoyable?

back to the rollercoaster or surfing the wave

It's totally normal this early in your quit Kris, it won't last forever and unfortunately the only way past it is through...... Maybe this thread will help you https://www.quittrain.com/topic/4460-the-roller-coaster-ride/ -
Couldn't figure out why my printer wouldn't print anything from email or any other web page and since I HATE when things don't work the way they should it was driving me crazy. THEN i looked at the chosen printer and saw it had reverted back to my previous printer. Problem solved!

Not a smoking issue, feet, ankles and lower leg swelling

Glad to hear they're going down. Maybe it was all the extra salt you've been eating since quitting?! -
Yay @Katgirl, I'm so happy to hear your stress is lessening! Enjoy your time with your family!
-
Ugh @Gus, sounds like a tough first day for you. Hopefully you won't need your nicotine gum. You don't want to reintroduce nicotine into your system! Maybe try the air cigarette instead? Hope you're having a much better day today now that hat the first day jitters have passed
-
I like your sense of humor @Kris, you seem so fun For me if I eat a bunch of different things it upsets my stomach. Maybe that's the case for you too?
-
Congratulations on a decade quit @Abby, and thank you for all your support and contributions to the boards. I hope you have a great day

@d2e8b8, isn't that what the "What are you doing thread" is for? You know as a mod making all those threads in different forums will just make more work for me moving them where they need to be. Oh wait a minute......maybe there's a badge for that
