  1. Yay @Steven Drojensky, another month under your belt! Well done
  2. Congratlations on nine months @Linda and thank you for the support and friendship you bring to all us aboard the train
  3. @Linda, it takes a good year to get past all the triggers you may face throughout any given year. Then there are the events that don't happen regularly that also can cause craves. You have to remember that you smoked for years and its just not realistic to think that in only 9 months time you would be over any craves so give yourself a break. You did it now the next wedding will be that much easier
  4. Well done getting past that Linda, you should be very proud of yourself

Drunk doesn't always make a person happy though, I've seen some plenty mean drunks!
  6. Right?! Its drab!
  7. Eating rotten squash
  8. She's home! Unfortunately, she's not doing as good as I would have hoped. The vet basically said they did all they could for her and to just love her with the time we have left. What a kick to the gut yoyo ride. But she's had 15 years, 13 with me and I'm just happy she's home. I tell you if I knew it was only going to buy for a little more time I would have never put her through all that but I owed it to her to try......
  9. Maybe we're a little jealous?
  10. Btw boo, how's the kitty liking his new home
  11. @JustinHoot99, when I had days like that I used my JAC (jillars air cigarette). It worked great at tricking my mind into thinking it was getting the real thing. I just pretending I was holding a cigarette and went through the motions of "smoking" it. I couldn't believe how well it worked. Some people have used pens, cut straws, even licorice for theirs but I liked looking stupid lol Just another tool to add to your arsenal
  12. Cookie ate some chicken this morning! She's coming home today around 5:00!
  13. Congratulations on a half a year quit today @Robbie! I hope you're doing well and check in
  14. Congratulations @MarylandQuitterMarylandQuitter on eight years quit! And thank you for providing this forum so that anyone worldwide can get support too
  15. These months are really adding up for you now @AceWhite, congratulations! I hope you celebrate today
  16. Congratulations on one month quit @JustinHoot99, you should be so proud of yourself! And thank you for being such an active supportive member here I hope you do something special for you today!
  17. Maybe it was an example of everything he knows?
  18. My husband said she looks miserable, cone on her head and tube down her nose. I just really think that could be why she's not eating so I asked him to remind them to try without the tube in. Keeping fingers crossed it works. Thanks for your prayers
  19. Doesn't it just make us look smarter having a couple?
  20. @Boo, you might be right! Got a pretty encouraging follow-up call just now. Cookies numbers are still improving. One came down significantly from where it was. She still isn't eating on her own and they suggested we come visit her to see if that works so my husband went down. I'm afraid if I go she'll wonder why I'm leaving and not taking her with me like I always do and we don't want any setbacks now. I also think it could be the feeding tube in her nose that's making her not want to eat so suggested they take it out and try. They said that was a possibility and they may try that. So thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts, I think they're working.....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
