  1. Btw boo, how's the kitty liking his new home
  2. @JustinHoot99, when I had days like that I used my JAC (jillars air cigarette). It worked great at tricking my mind into thinking it was getting the real thing. I just pretending I was holding a cigarette and went through the motions of "smoking" it. I couldn't believe how well it worked. Some people have used pens, cut straws, even licorice for theirs but I liked looking stupid lol Just another tool to add to your arsenal
  3. Cookie ate some chicken this morning! She's coming home today around 5:00!
  4. Congratulations on a half a year quit today @Robbie! I hope you're doing well and check in
  5. Congratulations @MarylandQuitterMarylandQuitter on eight years quit! And thank you for providing this forum so that anyone worldwide can get support too

  7. Congratulations on one month quit @JustinHoot99, you should be so proud of yourself! And thank you for being such an active supportive member here I hope you do something special for you today!
  8. Maybe it was an example of everything he knows?
  9. My husband said she looks miserable, cone on her head and tube down her nose. I just really think that could be why she's not eating so I asked him to remind them to try without the tube in. Keeping fingers crossed it works. Thanks for your prayers
  10. Doesn't it just make us look smarter having a couple?
  11. @Boo, you might be right! Got a pretty encouraging follow-up call just now. Cookies numbers are still improving. One came down significantly from where it was. She still isn't eating on her own and they suggested we come visit her to see if that works so my husband went down. I'm afraid if I go she'll wonder why I'm leaving and not taking her with me like I always do and we don't want any setbacks now. I also think it could be the feeding tube in her nose that's making her not want to eat so suggested they take it out and try. They said that was a possibility and they may try that. So thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts, I think they're working.....

I think the happiest person can't be happy ALL the time

  14. I know a couple people who THINK they know everything does that count?

  16. I brought a couple friends too
  17. @Linda, they are trying to get her to eat on her own but she's refused so far. They'll try throughout the day, run more tests around 4:00pm and will call an hour or two later with their recommendations and if she can come home Thank you for asking.....
  18. Yep, you have to be ready. I make sure to tell everyone about our site whenever the opportunity presents itself but its up to them to make that decision. We've had 9 new members sign up in the last month which I think is pretty darn good I also remember lurking as a guest my first few weeks quit before signing up so there's just no telling how many people are getting help here but don't want to register for one reason or another. And that's ok too
  19. About everything or anything?

I'd be happy if I didn't have to get up out of bed and pee every two hours
  23. Unfortunately because of her pancreatitis she'll be on a strict low fat prescription diet. But yes, she'll be home and she won't have to die alone with people she doesn't know. When the time comes the mobile vet will come to the house and I'll be able to stroke her over the rainbow bridge
  24. @Katgirl, that's awesome news from your cardiologist!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
