    Quit Wins

Good on you for protecting your newborn quit KEL
  3. @JustinHoot99, sorry you're struggling today. I had many of those days that first year and use that to remind myself why I keep my quit. I also stuck close to home that whole first month and only ventured out with my never smoker husband because I didn't trust myself not to buy a pack. Good on you for posting for help. Hopefully you're feeling a little better now. A couple quotes I used my first year quit were: "This too shall pass". And " All good(?) things must come to an end".

    Hi

Welcome aboard @KEL, Karen and congratulations on being a month quit already! You'll get all the support you need/want here both for our addiction and navigating our site. So have a look around, lots to do here from educating ourselves with threads and videos to Socializing when you want to take your mind off your quit but still stick close
  7. @Linda I'm not getting the shots today since I have my Dr appt. That'll be enough excitement for one day lol but thanks
  8. I have my first in office Dr appt today after almost two years of phone appts! The sucky part is that he's out of flu shots so now I'm stuck going into a pharmacy for it and a Covid booster shot. I sure didn't want to get them on the same day but looks like I'm going to have to

  10. Hi @Kimberbee, welcome to our train full of quitters Sounds like you have a great opportunity coming up with that apartment so I wish you the best that it happens soon for you. Sorry that you gave up that four year quit you had. I guess the good thing to that, if there were one, would be that not only do you know you can quit but you've also learned why we adhere to NOPE. So now that you're here why not just take the plunge and quit already?!

Is it your love of Eminem?
  22. @Tara smith, I was glued to the forum for the whole first year of my quit and reached out for support every time I felt I might cave to a crave. This is what I recommend for you too. We will talk you off the ledge if you just let us. Our whole purpose for being here is to help each other quit this insidious habit. I love your plan to tell yourself i love you and you could even go a step further by leaving positive sticky notes on places like your mirrors or doors. Tell the handyman you quit and ask him not to give you anymore cigs no matter what. I used an air cigarette (JAC) for months that REALLY worked at tricking my brain into thinking it was getting the real thing. Just pretend you're holding an actual cig and then go through the motions of "smoking" it. Some people use cut straws, pens, even licorice
  23. @BATBAT you're suppose to crash right before your vacation ENDS not right after it starts Feel better soon! Btw, how's Robin? I mean we know what happened to your bike but what's his excuse?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
