  1. Great idea @KEL, I'm Jill I'm 57 and live in sunny California. I've been addicted to nicotine since I was 17 and took my last puff on May 29, 2016. I stumbled upon my first forum accidentally by googling my quit symptoms and the support I read there led me to sign up and I am convinced that its having all that support from people who had or were currently going through the same thing that I have remained smoke free since. That board is long gone now and a good number of us are here now to pay it forward as well as reaffirm our own quits
  2. Hey @TONY, I thought we lost you! Congratulations on a month smoke free. That's HUGE!!!! I'm going to move this to the Celebrations forum where it rightfully belongs
  3. Congratulations @Martian5 on four years quit today! That is AWESOME. Hopefully you'll pop in and tell us how you'll be celebrating
  4. That's great news @Sal! I'm so happy that your wife quit too. Quit buddies are awesome

  7. Welcome aboard cweb, well done on 3 days quit already, that's awesome! You'll get all the support you could need/want here so use us to your advantage. The thing I found about quitting our addiction was that smokers hate losing a partner in crime and never smokers think we should be over it the second we quit. So being around others who know what we go through when we quit was instrumental in helping me get my forever quit. Hopefully the same will be true for you

  12. It can't float Why do feet stink?
  13. Oh @Mee, I can only imagine the hurt you are feeling having been excluded from the will. Please be sure to see the will though and don't rely on what your POS brothers are telling you. Greed has no boundaries, and I'm so sorry that even after death your parents are still hurting you. My heart is with you my friend.....

  15. Really awkward years
  16. I drank two cups of coffee for as long as I could remember and after I quit smoking I went down to just one a day, not even trying. These days I'm lucky to drink one full cup. I also use to drink dr. Pepper everyday and after quitting and getting my taste buds back found it wasn't as good as I thought it was lol. I can't even remember the last time I had one!
  17. Need some sex
  18. Happy New Year! You might want to check with your Dr about using both the patch and spray at the same time. You can actually get too much nicotine.
  19. What exactly are you worried about? You've got NRT'S if you need them, I'd also stock up on some candies you can suck on because our bodies often crave sweets when we quit. You'll also want to stay well hydrated with water, juices or sport drinks to help clean out the gunk quicker. Be sure to listen to your body, especially in the early days. If its hungry, eat. Tired, rest. Thirsty, drink, etc.
  20. I got bagel dogs and sour cream and onion potato chips
  21. Welcome aboard @Davevat1, forced or not its a great decision to quit this nasty habit! I know what you mean about following the butt ends, I did that too and still got my forever quit, just a few hours later than I started lol. We have a great group of quitters from all over the world and quit a few from across the pond so you're in good company here Be sure to check out all our different forums. Lots of great info about our addiction as well as tips and clues to help with the craves. We even have a whole video forum if that's more your thing
  22. The support you get from people all over the world who have either been there before you or are walking beside you may be just what you needed to get your forever quit so what do you have to lose? Actually you have a lot to lose if you continue to smoke!! So we hope you decide to join us
  23. For one, if they were time travelers they would be able to give us the winning lottery numbers and since they can't then it must be the time zones
  24. This is a gallon jug: 6. Cut in half and use bottom half for a planter (If anyone could figure out bow to play music on it it would be you Jo

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
