Welcome aboard @Pricci, I quit cold turkey but from what I've read from others who have successfully quit with the patch what you are feeling is normal. And regardless of what method you use to quit you're going to experience some anxiety or antsy feelings. You're body isn't getting it's fix and is having withdrawals. Something we all had to go through to get our forever quit. The good news is that its temporary so hang in there

Jonny5 Quit Date: 2011-12-21 Posted April 10, 2014 I'm not afraid of relapse one single bit. It ain't ever gonna happen. Some of you are. And there's one huge reason for that.... You have not closed the doors on your smoking past and evolved into a never again smoker, you have a lingering belief that smoking does give you some benefits and are abstaining through many methods. Abstainance looks like my quit but it is fundamentally different. There is no reason I would smoke ever and I hate smoke being anywhere near me. I am repulsed by the poisonous stench. Abstainance is going without what you want. You can abstain all your life, but it will never be the same as the true desire to never smoke again, and by definition it is never going to be as comfortable. You must discect your quitting mindset and remove any weaknesses to make it relapse proof. Seriously you have to remove all justifications. Including death of a child. Murder of a spouse. Terrible awful situations that you may face, and you must know that you would not find smoking to be a comfort. Then, like me, you will be forever free. This is the power and strength behind NOPE...it is not just a bashing word from the hardcore ex smoking police, it is the source of their quit strength. My first thought when reading this was shame on your daughter for leaving all that for you to do. She should have left you to babysit the grandkids while she packed up and cleaned her place. That being said, I'm so happy to see how you walked right past what would have been so hard for you two years ago. Proof for all those coming behind you that it does get so much easier with time -

I smoked for 35 years and I'm convinced that being a part of a forum with others who had been or were going through the same thing as me is how I achieved my forever quit and you can too, we got your back Check out all our different forums. We have our main board with tons of great information on our addiction. We also have a video forum if that's more your thing. Then we have our Social boards for when you want to stick close to your support but try to get your mind off your quit for a bit. Lots of fun threads there

Welcome @gum_addict and congratulations on your three week quit, that's fantastic I went cold turkey myself but we do have members who have successfully quit by using the nicotine gum. I'll tag @notsmokinjo to give you some clues how she did it. You can also try alternating between nicotine gum and regular gum but obviously at some point you'll just need to go through the three days or so it takes to get the nicotine out of your system.

Well done @KEL for seeing through nicotines lies! And you're so right, you would have felt terrible for giving up all the time you've invested to be free of this terrible habit. And remember each time you get through a trigger it gets weaker until its just a passing thought of days gone by..... Like my uncle would have said, "ya done good kid"
