  1. @Sunshine, we have a search box at the top of the main page that you can type key words in and all threads with them will pop up. Here is the one I believe you were looking for. There are several in the Food for Thoughts forum https://www.quittrain.com/topic/16077-any-experience-with-intermittent-fasting/
  2. Congratulations @Kris on another month smoke free! You are doing so well and have become such a supportive member to everyone on the train. I hope you have a great day and treat yourself to something special

    Shall We Rhyme?

    Heard that too
  14. Fixin to watch Avatar finally for the first time. Heard it was good and it has four stars so... Fun fact: I usually prefer the one star movies

    Sleep

@Sunshine, insomnia is pretty common when quitting. I took a OTC sleep aid a couple times to help get me back on track. I always say listen to your body when quitting. If it wants rest, rest, sleep, sleep, eat then eat.... It's doing a lot of work trying to clean up the years of gunk smoking left!
  16. @Sunshine, here is step by step directions with screenshots to make a ticker https://www.quittrain.com/topic/15042-creating-a-ticker/

    Shall We Rhyme?

    Flock of birds
  18. That's great news @JudiMD, I'm so glad to hear they got it all and you're still smoke free. Your Dr must have been thrilled to hear you quit

    Quit Wins

Love it @KEL glad you had a great day
  20. Woohoo @Gus, last monthaversary before the big anniversary! I'm so excited for you I hope you have a great day and spoil yourself a little!
  21. Great decision @Oslo, you got this!
  22. @nicotine_free, don't be ashamed if you're using the gum! A lot of people get their successful quit by using it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Your ticker says since your last cigarette, not since you last had nicotine in your system. Keep your user name because you will be nicotine free, you just need a little help right now. Have a plan to when you'll start reducing the gum you use each day and go from there
  23. Vent all you need to, that helped me tons! Hope your hand feels better. I get those terrible bruises with even the slightest hit to my arms. Staying close to home is also what I did in the early days, I just didn't trust myself! Looks like you're doing everything needed to make this your forever quit

    Urges

It'll pass @Kdad, try using the air cigarette to trick your brain or do something that you never smoked while doing. That helped me a lot. I didn't smoke in my car so I would get in and drive around the block and as soon as I started driving the crave went away.
  25. That damn addiction of ours will try anything to suck us back in. Poor pathetic thing doesn't stand a chance in hell while we're awake!! I had one not too long ago but they don't phase me. I look at dreams like I'm watching a movie though and sometimes I'm the star lol

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
