  1. You know @JustinHoot99 you could make your bowl of ice cream a reward for getting past each week quit. Rewards are important so celebrate each milestone be it an hour, day, week or month
  2. @Kdad, you're going to have craves. Some bad, but the only way past them is through. Every time you beat a crave it gets easier the next time. You REALLY need to let yourself get through these times or the addiction knows what it needs to do to get its way. You're the boss, not it!!!

    @Kris, no more pups for me. I also said that 15 years ago when Cookie magically started running the neighborhood so I took her in from the drug addicts who weren't taking care of her. But having another one just isn't in the cards for me anymore unfortunately....

  6. Hey @JustinHoot99, have you looked at the calories in peanut butter?! You could eat your ice cream and forego the PB. Or get frozen yogurt, that has less calories. Quitting is hard enough on its own, there's plenty of time after your quit is solid to worry about a few extra pounds...

  8. @JustinHoot99, I used to get my worst craves when I was celebrating something. I had some pretty good craves leading up to my one year anniversary! That's why we can never be complacent with this addiction! @DenaliBlues, A tantrum is exactly what it is! Just keep standing your ground because you're doing great

  12. babs609 Quit Date: 07/13/2012 Posted March 5, 2015 I am so looking forward to Spring...and as much as I complain about winter and wishing I lived in a more Babs friendly climate..I love Spring Fever! It's a feeling that those who live in milder climates don't experience. Seeing colors come to life, the birds singing a lovely tune at 6:00 am, the sound of lawnmowers, the smell of rain and fresh cut grass.....oh , i could go on and on!!! With this change of seasons, for many...comes triggers! Many of you are are facing Spring for the first time as a non smoker and you may experience some restlessness in response to these milestones. For example, even though you are enjoying breathing in fresh air as you sit out in your yard on a nice sunny spring day...your addict will remember you sitting outside with a cigarette...associating the feeling of peace and tranquility with the cigarette, rather than just the feeling of being there...enjoying the moment. That being said....let's focus on what you are looking forward to this Spring as a non-smoker.... Even though this July will be 3 years since I quit...I am still looking forward to going on a hike. I love hiking but as a smoker I would have to stop every 100 feet and breathe...and of course...after I would catch my breath..I would smoke. The first year I quit smoking..it was easier. Last year, easier yet! I can't wait to see how far I can go this year!! I also look forward to keeping up with my 2.5 year old granddaughter on the playground and not be out of breath.   14. 4. I spray water on wrinkled shirts while wearing it then use the blow dryer to press them. @DenaliBlues, yes it works great. You heat up the sticker to loosen the glue and the sticker comes off super easy

  16. I remember those days @DenaliBlues, those moments are when I used my JAC (jillars air cigarette). I just pretended that I was holding an actual cigarette and then went through the motions of "smoking" it. It worked really good and tricking my brain into thinking it was getting the real thing. Hang in there, its worth it....
