  1. OMG.....if anyone's keen it's page 144....that first tram is outside the Melbourne Town Hall....where I went to my first ball, drank my first Champaign....seen a heap of concerts there too, the massive organ there is world heritage listed, it's the third biggest in Australia and the second biggest British Style cathedral organ in the world that is still functioning & was built between the wars...you don't just hear it you feel it.....met one of my hero's (Weary Dunlop) there....the second team is at the St Kilda junction heading towards the heart of Melb along St Kilda Rd....has you travel towards the city of you look to your eft you will pass the Botanical Gardens, the shrine of Remembrance, which includes a field of trees with each tree dedicated to Navy vessels lost at sea and their crews...you will pass a tonne of statues, old dead British people, ancient gods, famous Aussies, my faves are Weary, the diggers and the hammer thrower...on your right you pass the army barracks, the NGV with its water wall, ponds and stain glass ceiling, the arts centre and the spire.
  2. @Lust4Life....yep a dingo's donga is exactly what you think....which is why a dead one is so dry. Pong.... Smell, really, really bad..stink, and then some. So something can pong or it can be pong. "Oh for farks sake d1ckhead put ya frickin runners outside they pong to high heaven." Or....coming home after doing something all sweaty... "I'd give ya a hug but I'm a bit pongy"
  3. Keepin mum. Staying quiet about something, keeping the secret of what really went on. Particularly not dobbing someone in. All the boys were keepin mum about the broken window. All the witnesses were keeping mum.
  4. pictures not working for me.
  5. -12.99.....just round it up peeps
  6. ^wot she said.... Your lot call it the clap...our lot call it the Jack.....we also call the little white ball in lawn bowls the jack....and we call the cops the jacks....not sure what the connection is between the 3 but good luck coming here and not growing up with the language.
  7. Oh....I'm being a bit cheeky .... One of our lovely newbies thanked @jillar for giving them the JAC earlier in the week so down here one defo wouldn't tank anyone for givin them the jack...well maybe a lawn bowler...so I've been stirring me mate Jill ever since....there's a song about it an all...so there you were off to the docs for a rash and I had a stir...all a good jest....even if there is no rash associated with The Jack.
  8. Wondering if @jillar gave her JAC to @Sazerac as well
  9. Lying on the couch wishing I could teleport to bed.
  10. Almost getting arrested.
  11. Jillar had the golden suggestion...when I first quit a lot at work never knew because I would still take my smoke breaks. ..id pop outside to my old smoke spot and "smoke" a pen....did everything the same just used a placebo smoke. It really does help and you won't miss your break or you enjoyment of the scenery. With the depression and anxiety.. so I have always had anxiety issues...quitting made them better once I got out of the first month....my depression is a bit of an issue at the moment but that has more to do with the side effects of my thyroid medication. When you quit the chemical and hormonal cocktail that is your body changes....often people need their medications altered during and after a quit. What I can promise you is it does get easier and you really do want this. Make sure you reward yourself...even if it's something small like a bubble bath after work or a new candle or a fancy coffee.... Rewards are important because your brain needs to be reprogrammed to know the good fun feels come from not smoking.
  12. Sitting on a bus. .. saddly it's only the first bus
  13. So there is a push at the moment to make the Melbourne CBD smoke free and as of tomorrow morning the Bourke Street Mall goes smoke free. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/councillors-push-for-melbourne-cbd-smoking-ban/news-story/5a19306d333bc561a63b4b0edf3d6538 So in Australia if an area is designated non-smoking that includes vaping. Other states joke the Victoria has become over regulated and is the nanny state but I'm not sure it's so bad.
  14. Hey @Octain the one johnny mentioned has a Cristian section so might still suit.
  15. Chocolate Cupcakes (vegan) So I hacked my go to chocolate cupcake recipe so I could cook it for a friend who is vegan. I have put the original recipe ingredients in (brackets) where I have done a switch out, I have used { } to indicate a us/UK translation if know. We just call shit different things, live with it . The kid, who isn't really a cake person loved these normally but had a vegan one and asked if I changed the recipe cos this was better. Cups in Australia hold 250ml Ingredients: 2 cups plain flour {all purpose flour} 1 cup white sugar 1/4 cup good quality unsweatened cocoa powder 2 teaspoons bicarb soda {baking soda, soda bicarbonate} 1 cup water (milk) 1 cup vegan mayonnaise (whole egg mayo) 1/4 cup apple sauce 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar. (Malt vinegar.....but I've always used apple cider vinegar, malt vinegar is just for corned beef) Method: Preheat oven to 180c {350f....sorry dunno the Brit equivalent gas level something...wait the Google B1tch tells me it's gas mark 4} 1. In a bowl sieve all the dry ingredients and mix until combined. 2. In a larger bowl add all wet ingredients and using a hand mixer/beaters mix on high until well blended. 3. Add dry ingredients to wet mix in 3 batches, beating between each addition and scraping down the sides. If mix seems too dry (it should be think not runny) you can add a few extra tablespoons of water. 4. You could cook as 1 cake but I line 2 cupcake tins with patty pans (those cup cake paper things) and fill 1/2 way. Pop in the oven for 15-20mins or until the skewer comes out clean. Once cool decorate with either a buttercream icing (I use a coconut oil marg to keep the vegan going) or a chocolate ganache when vegan doesn't matter.
  16. 1. Feeling slightly jealous of @WeegieWoman's view. 2. Watching a cooking show teach me how to make a Thai fish soup...looks much quicker and easier than my usual recipe. 3. Waiting for the cupcakes in the oven to be finished cooking. 4. Thinking the food channel might not be the best middle of the night option for an insomniac.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
