  1. This one's for my Grandad...
  2. Feeling a bit shellshocked still after last night's tragedy at home. Wanted to give a shout out to all our boys n girls in blue (or whatever colour the coppers wear where you live)...you mob show up each day to do an often shitty job without much thanks to keep us safe. We don't realise (especially down here) how much they risk every time they go to work. I dunno how they do it, how their families do it. 4 highway patrol cops, to senior constables and 2 brand new probationary constables were killed at a routine speeding stop last night when a semi hit them all while they were standing in the emergency lane. So sad, all flags at half mast. Stay safe. Thanks for living your lives in the service of complete strangers.
  3. 3:49 am and I'm making ANZAC bickies.
  4. Don't forget to glove up.....oh for the days when that meant something different. (In Victoria...you can't just go for a drive, it's against the iso rules...and a $1680 fine.
  5. New page...new batch of Aussies....
  6. Yelling at the stupid people I see on the news.
  7. Think @jillar needs to watch A Bugs Life. Homeschooling art class and NOT having panic attacks cos the kid is using (destroying) my high end water paints....and not being critical ...and not loosing my shit. Evil teachers giving art as homework...fark you very much ya C U next Tuesday's!......my blood pressure can't handle this shit.
  8. Oh I want 1 n 3 to be true but I'm Gunna say 1 us the lie cod I like the idea of Piggy as a hero....although I did visualise a juggling pig and laughed out loud.
  9. @Sazerac have you ever used you bean juice to replace egg whites and make merengue or macarons? I've been wanting to try it but I am a bit scared.
  10. I am do stealing the egg cube hack. So Gunna share my mates Nonna's 'instant home made povo pasta" recipe....cos while I make proper pasta a bit this quick, no fuss linguine/fettuccini recipe is a no brainer... To handfuls of flour and enough water to make a playdough consistency...give a quick knead...roll out on a floured bench with a rolling pin (bit of dowl in my place)...then roll up like a pinwheel...cut into ribbons, pop into boiling salted water for 2mins and drain....servd with whatever sauce you want....no need to rest the dough...quick, easy and if ya outa pasta a god send.
  11. Seeing as a pack of smokes costs more than a lamb roast down here defo loving the money I now seem to have so much more of. I love the freedom. But most of all I love that my kid wants to hug me and spend time with me because it doesn't hurt her breathing anymore....and I never even knew it did until she says something after I quit.
  12. Dunno about you mob but with the lockdown I've been doing a bit more cooking than normal....well not more, just less quick n easy.... Everyone is loving home made rolls in our house and bickie's every couple of days. Forgot home much I loved baking. Landed on a knead free bread roll recipe which is awesome. But they don't last that long so sort of need a few people to eat them.
  13. Over a month later and it's still soup....cauliflower n spinach soup with homemade cheese stuffed dinner rolls.
  14. Hungry-thirsty...when your not really hungry and ya not thirsty..but ya are...
  15. The winner is Reci... 1...True...our little team had just won against all the big fancy eastern suburbs teams for a 3-pete and I had won the association best n fairest (MVP) for the 3rd time too, playing goal keeper. 2...LIE...while I did win the competition for my age in my state with a cleched little drawing of kids in national costume holding hands around the world (hey I was 9) the reception dinner was at one office building for the company that sponsored it...it might have been ESSO...not sure anymore. Had to dress up all fancy and go out late (it was dark) at night in the city. 3...TRUE....Nippondenso gave small schoolarships each year to each of the secondary schools (state and private) each year and 1 regional full schoolarship to a year 10 each year to cover their year 11 and 12 education...which I won the big one..I got presented with it in a scholarship in their cafeteria at the plant. I only applied for it because I liked tasting tests and these wankers I hated were going for it and I wanted to beat them.
  16. Meanwhile .....down under.... ^ had me tickets to see this legend ....been waitin for months...Nek minit lockdown. And what could represent Aussie blues better than Chain who copied the American masters for 2 1/2 years then wrote this tribute to our convict past...
  17. So this duo of Sydney are usually belting out covers or parodies...but they did this one for ANZAC Day 2020....normally around Australia we would gather at dawn for a service to remember our fallen and those who have served...anyway this year we can't. @Cbdave you might like this one.
  18. Welcome, and he'll yeah it does...unfortunately there is no miracle magic day that your done cos we are all different...the other thing is that change is a little each day....day 12 is easier than day 1 but it's still brings its sh1t so we don't really notice that it is easier...but in time you look back and are so glad you stuck it out.
  19. I see you soft poached on crumpets and bring you roast pork with crackle and vegies backed in dripping... Might not be dad's Easter lamb roast (fruck U Covid-19) but ... Crackle! Brings a smile to the any sad day....unless ya Jewish orva Muslim I spose. I only do my veg in dripping now for special occassions... an it always makes me a bit teary...both grandad and Grandma cooked their roast veg like this.
  20. It stops chooky...just takes time.... So try a shower...you can't smoke in the shower. Suck a lollypop...have a chewy (gum)....drink some herbal tea....drink some hot honey and lemon.
  21. I'm reading a whole series of baseball books ... Not much sport in them but plenty of bats an balls and sliding into home ....seriously who'd a thought baseball soft porn.
  22. Oh goody.... 1. When I won the third best n fairest in a row for the netball association the mayor held dinner in his offices for my team and I. 2. When I won my age group for the 1986 international year of peace children's art competition I had to attend a reception at the national art gallery. 3. When I won the Nippondenso Science Scholarship I had to attend their chemical plant for a reception.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
