  1. G'day an welcome aboard. Take your time to look around, there are heaps of resources here. We come from all over the world so it's very rare to not have someone around if you need support. There is the daily NOPE thread and we even have an SOS thread. You feel like smoking and think you might cave, pop in there and sing out your sos...peeps will come talk you off the ledge. Be kind to yourself, you have 9 years of addiction to undo so make sure to reward yourself. Just take it 1 day at a time, before you know you will be a year or more in.

  12. Oh... nowhere random thought.... are snickerdoodles North America's version of the pavlovs?.... I've seen these cinnamon delights referred to as both Canadian and American in origin.... so down here those pesky little brothers of ours in NZ are always trying to claim they invented the pav, they didn't but because of the underarm incident we tend to humour them and sort of pretend they have a claim to it. But when they come for our laminations, thems fighting words...gees Louise they'll be after claiming Vegemite next.
  13. Random thought....I don't think this is the what are you doing right now thread.... oops, yeah nah, it can stay here. Oh here's a random thought....hope the nobody bickies work, I usually use 50/50 brown sugar and white sugar BUT we currently have a sugar shortage in the southern states.. and I wasn't game to substitute monkfruit sugar instead...so it's all brown sugar this time, I think from memory that makes them chewier.
  14. Baking. Yes it's 2am Friday in my neck of the woods... Yes I have work tomorrow... So given up trying to sleep. I just drift off and bam...stupid digestive issues have me up and rocking in pain... oh but don't feel sorry fir me, its total self inflicted.... yep, I knowingly ate foods that make me ill. 19. So there's this Japanese tradition of glue broken pieces of a cup back together with gold so gold shows through at the cracks...the beauty of an imperfection. You mob are my gold.
  20. Congrats Boo... Wot a ripper quit. Not much to say that hasn't been said but... Thank you, thank you, thank you... for your support, For your guidance and so many freakin laughs. For graciously (& unknowingly) accepting the role as my quit brother... I mean thinking of ways to shit stir you (poke the bear) got me through many a crave...don't think I've ever confessed that before... I mean pointing me to stick of the day I'm sure you weren't expecting to see welding sticks or the total lunacy it devolved into...so for anyone wonder @Boo is 100% responsible for the genius of stick of the day. Seriously though, I'm sorry if any of the shit I pulled hurt or upset you... stirring the shit outta someonelse is a pretty immature way to cope with your own crap but please know you dragged my arse through some really dark places, and down under havin a sledge or hangin shit is how we treat our mates. Just wanted you to realise just how much of a difference you did make and still do to people all over the world. Those tin lids of yours really lucked out in the dad department. Oright, enough of that crap.... great job mate, ripper quit for a bonza bloke.

  24. Not sure if you mob up north have a product called Nil Odour ... it's like the Chuck Norris version of fabreeze. A few drops in your cat and smells gone. Really just popped in to say good luck at tge dentist tomorrow. Oh, and we have had members here who have just decided to quit and they were done, then we have had others who have fallen off the train more times than I have fingers and toes, some who have dragged themselves to the 1 year line with much angst, the point is every quot is different no two journeys are the same but the destination doesn't change so just keep swimming.
  25. Congrats mate. That is an achievement and a win. See the thing with a successful quit is we need to celebrate the wins. They may be small, the may be big but celebrate them, reach over and pat yaself on the back. Fun fact, 4 or 5 months into my quit I had a melt down panic attack because I was scared to use my sewing machine because it was so linked to smoking for me...sew a seem, have a durry....rejoice in your achievement it's a big step, come Wednesday's dentist trip you already know you can do this, cos guess what, you just did.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
