  17. Missy, completely normal. You will experience a number of feelings, emotions and triggers and you can expect them to hit you fairly frequently in the early days of your quit. There's no need to over analyse them. Just know at the moment you should try to tune into what your body is telling you need and that you have suppressed in the past with cigarettes. HALT is a common acronym. Hungry/thirsty - Start with cold water, fruit juice to keep blood sugar up or hard/boiled sweets. Have plenty of fruit on hand if you can. Angry - shout, scream, punch a pillow Lonely/bored - find a distraction, reading, posting and playing games here are good Tired - Get a nap if you can There are some good posts on the subject that I can't do justice to here, but hopefully you can follow this link Be really kind to yourself because what you are doing is awesome.

  20. @Tammy you're quit is still very young and requires nurturing. Just know that you are doing a superb job and that as you beat the craves their power diminishes. You are winning every time you handle one.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
