  1. Welcome DragonsFancy! Congratulations on taking your life back from nicotine addiction! I will echo (echo echo) read (read read) about nicotine addiction. It helps put your quit into perspective and you will learn that your quit (this quit) can be just as easy as never putting another cigarette in your mouth.
  2. I've always loved my quit!! Keep that with you; even when nothing else is going right, you can find happiness and motivation there. Confidence is the #1. I thought I had it before but I've learned I used smoking as a way to remain antisocial and unapproachable. (I guess holding on to that 15yr old tough girl attitude)Now, I have no problem taking the middle seat at the dr office or standing close to the other moms at the book fair. #2 Happiness. Truly being happy for myself was foreign before my quit. I had to light a cigarette to tell me to be happy. Never again. #3 There is a new closeness in my family because we aren't missing moments for cigarettes. I learned how to ask for help. I could write a book. I love the new non-smoking me!
  3. I never had those crazy "crack-head" thoughts about craving and such either. After the first full day quit the needy pacing was gone and I could just move on. The weight is... What it is for now. Chocolate.
  4. What a beautiful baby quit you have Linda Thomas!! We're proud of you!
  5. Hip hooray!!
  6. I love puppy breath! Fun!...but jealous.
  7. Hey, never smokers have crappy days too! It's life! We love your quit ((Linda Thomas)) and we're so glad you're here!!
  8. I helped start a roller derby team lead blocker, and league Secretary for 3 yrs.
  9. Now we know where you get it from warrior woman!!
  10. This right here is how I lost my way too...I didn't smoke, but I just didn't know where to turn because I was kind of embarrassed that I needed help. I've never in. my. life. had to ask for help. Please know the common goal here is to help people quit, stay quit, and learn to embrace and live quit. Never worry or wait. We are here to help! Party on MLMR!! ((I'm so glad you came!!))
  11. I have alot of kids...I do alot of screaming. That little girls pretty face should be in your mind 24/7. If you do this right, she will never remember that you smoked. And, when she's old enough to make the decision to smoke or not, she will have a dad that can help teach her Nope. Maybe if people like you and me work together, we can raise these kids to never put death in their mouths.
  12. This is it!! This is quitting!! The ONLY past the cravings is thru them head first running screaming...the first 3 days of detox SUCK but after you get thru; you NEVER have to do it again. Start reading about nicotine addiction and you will learn it's all in your mind and who controls your mind? YOU!
  13. Congrats Sonic!
  14. I set a date. I circled it in red and told myself daily that was the day I would quit smoking. (Mother's Day was close enough and appropriate as my kids were a big factor in my decision.) I made a quit list and put it right at eye level on the fridge...read it daily; it's still there and I still do:) The day before I quit, I divided what was left in the pack I had (you know, the ol' romance). I actually smoked my "last one" at 6:30pm that Saturday at my mom's. Then that was it. I was a non-smoker the next day when I woke up, and have been ever since. Plus, I read like a crazy person about nicotine addiction and learned that I'm no better than any other drug abuser.
  15. Already picking out a swimsuit for next year...
  16. BKP nailed it for me too. It's the kids I'm worried about. My dad is a "vaper" -he even has like a basket(caddy) to carry all his stuff from room to room...because that is important??. Anyway, it's whatever, he's a grown ass retired man. But, my kids see the stuff. The bublegum flavor is in a bubblegum looking box, popcorn flavor is in a cute little popcorn bucket, the very cherry flavor has 2cheeries with hairbows kissing w a heart above them...you absolutely can not tell me that is marketing for a grown ass man. So, yeah. I have some pretty strong feelings about it too. MQ posted a good video about Juul on my vape thread, I'll try to link it over)
  17. Looks lovely... London doesn't look too bad either! Glad you're home safe and sound?

  21. I think I saw the new woohooer's practicing earlier!!
  22. When I don't see @Rozuki around for a few days I assume the pool boy is in town.... ???
  23. An extra 1/4inch of teeth due to gum disease?
  24. @Kdad! Kdad! Kdad! Dance off!! Thanks for coming kdad! And for thank you for quitting! It's a funny illusion that "free" time, huh? I remember trying to fill it with mindless activity to keep the junkie thinking away. There is a light tho! Soon, you will learn to relax and just enjoy life....then you will wonder when you could ever find the time to smoke all day!! Linda Thomas suggested (very wisely...this lady, I'm telling you; she's on to something) small task rewards. I used mini chocolate bars. You will get it Kdad!! We're rooting for you!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
