  6. Congrats Nancy on that 5 year mark -- such a great job and all the support and help you have to offer us all --- just amazing!!
  7. NOPE!!!!!!
  8. When I first quit I checked out various quit smoking forums and found this one. I lurked for about a week really researching everything on this forum. I too am not a "social network" type of person but I saw the value that I might get from the QuitTrain. I have not regretted that decision and have not looked back since. It can't hurt but it sure does help.

  10. Weegie great job on that 8 month mark, that lido deck should just about be in sight now. Keep up the great work and make sure you take the time to celebrated today, you deserve it!!!!!!
  11. Jet, it's hard to believe it has been over 9 months now, I remember the concerns you had at your 3 month mark when I had just started. Fantastic job on this achievement and remember to pamper yourself really well today!!!!!!
  12. NOPE!!!!!!
  13. Vaping --- No I do not agree with it. Vaping is just as, if not more, addictive than cigs. I have had several "smoking friends" who went to vaping and cannot give up the nicotine habit (they are still at after 3 years). Also those who do vape usually take in more nicotine on a daily basis. Yes there are those that have had quit cigarettes by vaping but it is not the panacea that it is made out to be. Also many young people are going straight into vaping never having smoked cigarettes and some of those it has led to actually smoking cigarettes. I agree with the pig lover --- if your going to quit go all in!!!!!!
  14. O congrats on this 6 month mark, it is a great achievement. Who would have thought that when we began this journey back in January we would be here 6 months later and doing great. Go out and celebrate, I think the next 6 months is very, very doable!!!!!!
  15. I remember back in January when I was only 3 weeks quit and the Pig Lover was celebrating his 1 year on the lido deck. I kept thinking how am even going to make 1 month let alone 1 year. Well six months in with a lot of help from all of you I am going strong on the quit. Been some hard times but with all the information and people here I got through them. Now I just have to remember to keep my focus and to pledge NOPE each day -- with each day -week- month my quit keeps getting stronger. Again thanks to all for your support!!!!!!
  16. Rory congrats on the 6 month mark, looks like we went at this on the same day, and look at us now -- a half of a year.
  17. Congrats on your 8 month mark, way to go -- Keep it up and that 1 year mark will be here before you know it
  18. Welcome aboard on this journey with us Justine. Cold Turkey can be a hard way to go but it is the best way and in the long run you may find that it has it moments but not as hard as you might make it out to be. Remember deep breathing techniques can really help (this can be done with the air cig) and drinking lots of cold water -- also coming here and doing the daily NOPE pledge really does help.
  19. NOPE!!!!!! Definitely not on my 6 month anniversary date -- no way
  20. Just about to the 6 month mark and I am doing well, not much in the way of craves and getting use to a smoke free life!!!!!
  21. NOPE!!!!!
  22. GITW -- I think you are doing the right thing by posting here. It shows courage and well as admitting that you need help with this, I believe we all do. I won't go into any long stories but I fully understand where you are coming from. At present I am refusing a 2nd back surgery and just learning to deal with the pain and manage it naturally. The one thing I know is that smoking will only make it worse -- you need that oxygen to help heal and manage the pain. I know it is hard place to be in and I also felt smoking would help but thought long and hard and realized that it would only make it worse -- both physically and mentally. Keep it going you are doing awesome, we are all behind you on this. And Jo thanks for all of your strength that you show us all -- Keep Up the Good Fight!!!!!
  23. NOPE!!!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
