  1. Thanks for everything
  2. Welcome Sean, hopefully coming here will help you to take the leap to fully quitting. The best advice I can give, besides just tossing the smokes away, is to research this site and educate yourself about this addiction. You can overcome this, after 44 years I was able to quit -- not easy but at 8 and 1/2 months I am doing so much better..
  3. NOPE!!!!!!!!
  4. As to "how long" each person is different as you can see. After decades of smoking I am not looking for normal as in before, I am looking and embracing the new normal -- looking at each day quit and rejoicing in that (this, besides daily NOPE, has been my biggest motivator). Everything gets better with the passing of time but really just focus and celebrate each day and before you know it -- those cravings will be so easy to ignore.
  5. 1 Month, awesome job -- keep it going and make sure you celebrate!!
  6. Sierra you must remain strong -- Keep trying, you can do this -- as you say the pull is strong especially the first few days but you can overcome the urge!! Come here and post and post a lot people will be there to do what they can. Drink lots of cold water -- deep breathing -- and most important NOPE (every hour if you have to). This can be done and it shows because you are still here trying!!!
  7. Recovering from surgery, heavily medicated, smoking in bed -- drowsing off ( yes I am admitting to something very stupid, was lucky, and really started thinking I needed to stop). It shows that we were so addicted to the nicotine we were turning a blind eye to the many different ways that smoking can really harm us.
  8. NOPE!!!!!!!!
  9. 8 months awesome job Kermit!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
