  1. ^^^^^^ Yes I believe Mona hit one aspect and that is complacency -- we will always have to be on guard since craves can and do come out of nowhere!!!!
  2. I will be honest, it is hard to see this. Yep I am going to say get rid of what you have now, do not take another puff (that will help stop, hopefully going thru another hell week if you are being honest about what you have smoked). We all make mistakes but it is what we learn from them that is important, take a deep look at the last couple of weeks to see if you can find the trigger. If I am being honest yes I still get a strong craving especially that last month or so do to family and some medical stress and really fought to stay away from smoking. Quitting can a never ending process -- time just gives us many more ways of coping with the craves and realizing we do not need to smoke -- that life is better on the other end. What can you expect -- More of My Support as you move forward without smoking. You do not want to be like me and others where quitting became a medically important for my health -- you can do this!!!!! And remember the SOS board is there for all of us!!!!
  3. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Welcome aboard Efficacy, good to have you along for this journey. You sound so much like me when I started on my quit and joined the Quit Train. I am older and had smoked for 44 years and not into social media sites but I took the leap and came on board, great choice on my part and I have never looked back. Looks like you are familiar with the site--- just remember you can do this and make sure you come by often to learn and to post!!!!
  5. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Awesome job on the 4 month mark, your quit is really going strong this time!!!
  7. Welcome aboard Jeff -- glad that you are here. You will find lots of support here and those with experience of the many facets of quitting smoking. If you have any questions or comments do not be afraid and just post, we have all been there and can offer advice on almost anything that may affect your quit. If you feel like you are hanging by a thread you have come to the right place -- it has happened to the best of us. The great thing is that you have an awesome quit going showing you are strong -- that and that you have come here to post. As said You Can Do This!!!!! Congrats on your quit so far -- you are doing great!!!!
  8. All I can say is good for you, sticking to it and reaping the benefits. You put into words what I felt last fall as I had completed my 8th month. It sneaks up on you but then it hits you hard that this is doable. Job well done and thanks for the post - it really shows that not only can it be done but it is so well worth it!!!!!!
  9. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Hey Dizzy, glad you posted. As others have said this is your quit, yes it can add to the struggle if your significant other will revert to having a smoke but you can remain strong and keep your quit and maybe be a beacon to your husband. You can do this and hopefully a night of sleep will help -- Keep Strong!!!
  11. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. 5 years, amazing. Congrats and thanks for your words of wisdom!!!!
  13. I am with Doreen ion this, the three month mark can throw you some real tough ones. At this point in your quit you are doing well. When these strong craves come on take the resolve to ride it out (which you are doing). Post if you have to (which you are doing). Learn from each strong crave (which you are doing). You are doing much better on this quit, keep it going and you will make it thru this -- great job!!!!
  14. Back in the fall when I could smell autumn in the air and could walk more than a mile, then the Doctor saying I had to reduce some of my blood pressure medications since it was going to low -- that was the mark!!!!
  15. NOPE!!!!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
