  1. Welcome aboard, glad to have you along. A lot has already been said. You can do this, just come here often to educate yourself on how to get over the crave (small and big) and commit yourself. Also doing the NOPE pledge each day can help keep your mind focused for that day. You have a good grasp on why you smoked just turn that around and look at all the positives for quitting. You can do this and if you get to that 3/4 month mark come on here and give a shout!!!!
  2. Fantastic job on the 2 month mark -- Congrats and remember to take a little time to celebrate today!!!
  3. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Hey Michelle glad to hear from you again. Good that you have your date planned. And yes there have been people on this site who have been successful on this site quitting with NRT, whatever will get you thru quitting smoking. Again make sure you educate yourself and ask any questions that might help you!!!!
  5. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Sheesh you want me to do math --- 539 days give or take a couple!!!!
  7. I have to go with the original, the only way to go (hard to believe 45 years ago, I was in advanced training for the Army). Also this album had meant a lot to me -- lots of memories!!!!
  8. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. ^^^^^ Boo I like your idea of going with preparation -- it is kind of what I did. Sometimes if you put a Plan into place and one little thing goes wrong can lead to making excuses for not completing the plan -- so I go with preparation!!!!
  10. I really had no plan at the beginning only a desire to quit. As I went into my quit during the first week I set up kind of plan and that was to educate myself more and to find support -- that is how I got here!!!
  11. It is a good point-- stricter regulations on all nicotine products should be in place (for goodness sakes it is a poison!). As to banning e-cigs it may be in response to how popular it is with youth and the seemingly positive advertising vaping is getting -- hard to tell. The best step for right now is go the direction that a few states are taking and moving the age limit to 21 -- also making nicotine products more expensive might make a difference -- hard one to watch/oversee. We will have to see how this all plays out.
  12. And now we have the day a big NOPE for today!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Oh I have and you are so right on the flavored ones though I at times think of bubblegum!!!
  14. Getting earlier all the time, I might wait for placing the NOPE until tomorrow on this one!!
  15. Hopefully this will set a trend -- I live in the Northwest and can see Oregon and Washington going thru with this also in the near future (hoping anyway)!!!!!!
  16. Great Job sunshine59, whatever you can do to get rid of the craving. As Whispers states -- take a walk that always helps me. I have had thoughts of getting a pack but always look at where I am at and the overall improvements, if it gets drastic I pull out the plastic cigarette I have and suck in straight air and it seems to do the trick. You have this and doing well!!!!
  17. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Well done for your father, glad he can see the big picture and follow what his body says. Reminds me of my father who at 70 told him the same thing(which he did not do), and now he is 89 still moving along good. The more exercise you can tolerate the better you will feel physically and mentally!!!!
  19. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Great job and yes it will get better and it will last, just takes some time. Your are doing great!!!
  21. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Welcome aboard greenlight. You have a fantastic quit going at 7 years. I am sure there is much you can add to the forums as you already have. We must always remain vigilant to our quit, it can be so easy to lose. Anyway glad that you are here and look forward to your posts.
  23. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Fantastic job on the 10 months -- you are going strong now. Congrats and you had better take a little time to celebrate today!!!!!
  25. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
