  6. Not at all, not at all -- cuteness will not deter me from my favorite candy!!!
  7. Welcome aboard Roark glad to have you along on this journey and congrats on the 38 days. As you mentioned already it seems the craves are getting a little bit better and they will continue to do so but it will take a little time but it does get easier as the days go by. The psychological aspect can be at times the rough one to go thru while quitting but each day you battle and win the stronger you will become. Just keep your commitment and your focus and you will get thru this. Come by often to socialize and educate yourself and use the daily NOPE pledge -- it truly helped me!!!
  8. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Feeling very tired was a surprise to me also, kind of caught me of guard but I used to my advantage. You are spot on about seeing "our individual light. The same thing happened to me and what my nurse and doctor were saying finally hit home -- took me too many years to see but I finally did see and things are better now. Keep strong!!!!
  10. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Great job on the first day. As to the question on controlling the eating -- that will be a hard one since your taste will be coming back and you will probably find that somewhat enjoyable. I would say don't deprive yourself there, you might gain a few pounds but in the end you can lose that. I discussed this with my doctor and she told me not to worry about eating or gaining some weight but to focus on the quitting cigarettes. I did gain some weight but have now gone down to my weight prior to quitting. The main thing here is that getting off cigarettes will be far more beneficial to you at this time and to watch your food intake but do not worry about too much at this time!!!!
  18. Glad to hear from you again Latoya, so happy to see that your quit is still going strong !!!!
  19. Congrats on the 1 month mark you have been so strong this last month. Make sure you take some time to celebrate today -- Keep Strong!!!
  20. Welcome aboard Phil and congrats on taking more control of your life. I quit at 64 and it can be done (spurred on by medical advice from doctor since damage was done-- but doing better now). As you know from the past quit it may be tough but the benefits are so much better. I too went CT and I think was the best way to go -- I had tried various NRT's with no luck. Just make the commitment, keep the focus, and come here for all the support you need -- we will be here!!!
  21. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Welcome to the Lido deck MLMR, we are so happy you are here. Congrats on all the hard work that you have done and your support of all on this board -- your journey has been inspirational to many here. Celebrate the day -- you truly deserve it!!!!!
  23. interesting question Jazzmine. I too have dreams where I am smoking to this day -- and I mean I fully experience smoking so much I feel like I have broken my quit upon waking up. As said above I believe it is imprinted in the brain as are other experiences you have gone thru. So long as it is not in your daily waking life and you are not really craving I believe that you are good. And by the way awesome job on the 6 1/2 year quit!!! By the way not a weird question, I have asked or mentioned here a couple/three times!!!!!!
  24. NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Fantastic job on 3 months Richard, Congrats and take some time to celebrate today!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
