Thanks to these materials and the video on "getting locked up to quit smoking" I feel like I'm ready to go back to the normal routine. I am going to have to conquer the cue induced cravings no matter what. This is recovery. There is no free ride. For anyone. I accept that. Now that the worst of this process is over I am able to stay concious and present, and beat a crave. Joel, if it wasn't for your smoking cessation materials and the support of this board I would never have been able to quit. I don't know if you saw my original post, but nicotine was really ruining life for me. Thank you guys. -
I will not smoke a cigarette today, or ever again. Nope. I quit. Never using nicotine ever again.

96 hours. No headache and no aches or pains so far tonight. Going back home tomorrow and returning to my normal routine. Its going to be really weird. Everyone downtown smokes, and I don't have to anymore. I mean EVERYONE downtown smokes or dips or vapes. Not me, not ever again. Considering taking a pair of filter masks and putting charcoal between them. Then gluing them together. Keep the smell of secondhand out of my face. -
Things are about to get better, you are at two weeks! That was a big milestone for me. A lot of people say that when you quit you have to quit for two weeks. I found that to be true, right around the two week mark I remember waking up and not thinking about a cigarette until I got to work.

I feel mentally and emotionally better than I did as a smoker. My problems have not vanished, but life is a lot less bleak. Tobacco addiction was like an invisible prison. Not even technically at day four yet. Still I feel better. This is the best thing I could have done for myself. Smoking really makes mental health issues a lot worse, nicotine is a really nasty mind/mood altering substance that I am never using again.

Aches and pains, the headache, and the craves seem to come on all at once. Headache and aches/pains seem to come on at night. That would make sense, since thats when I typically smoked most. -
So --- Finally the moment has come

The next cigarette really was the whole point of my day. I feel like I have my life back. Its been about three days. I am really looking forward to the cravings fading. -
I quit around 73 hours ago. It feels great. I can breathe easier, my blood pressure is improved, and I don't have to buy the things anymore. I am so glad nicotine is gone, I am never ever using it again.

72 hours. Detox should be over. The first few days of my new life as a non smoker have been awesome. I NEVER thought I would be free. -

Oh yes, food definitely helps. I also found myself able to enjoy music today without a cigarette and that's a big deal too. -

My first thought every day, the second I achieve conciousness, is "I quit smoking." Theres a wave of mixed feelings, a lot of anxiety as I lay there. I think about my clean time, that helps a lot. At least it's "I quit smoking". Not "I want a cigarette." Not "Woe is me." I am so happy and so relieved to have quit. Lose all my clean time to have a cigarette? Nope. I'd have to be crazy. -
Every day gets easier octain. Keep going.

Nope. Never using nicotine or tobaccoo ever again.

48 hour mark (roughly). I am eating a TON of food, and it feels great to be able to eat and to have an appetite again. My heart rate feels different. Its not smashing into my ribs anymore. It no longer feels labored. It is significantly easier to breathe. Significant decrease in symptoms associated with post traumatic stress such as flashbacks and panic attacks. Acid reflux and pain associated with GERD has decreased. My fingers aren't cold. My fingers had been cold since winter started. Its kind of scary, but my arms and legs and hands/feet are aching a bit as circulation improves. I am so glad, so happy, so relieved that I quit. I hate nicotine and I cannot fully express in words how greatful I am to this board. You people are wonderful. -

Octain you can do it! Think about what it's going to be like, never needing or wanting nicotine EVER. Joel Spitzer has a bunch of great material, I found every single thing on whyquit to be useful. Worse thing right now is restless legs. I wanna sprint out of my own skin. -

NOPE! No nicotine, no tobacco, not ever again. I am craving a bit, its (roughly) hour 19 for me. But its not bad. Keeping busy, got up this morning and just WENT. Staying with a friend who doesn't smoke for the first few days. -
I have quit nicotine. I was supposed to quit yesterday, ran out of smokes and excuses around two and a half hours ago. You know what flipped my switch? I accepted that nicotine won't make me feel better, nicotine is what made me feel like crap.
