Congratulations.... 4 months is a quit to be proud of !!!!I read this with tears... He was special.....You won the battle.... How many more battles you may have to fight ...I wish I could tell you... Coming up go 5 yrs...I still remember I was a smoker...not to have one....but remember I did smoke for decades... I don't think of them often... We are all addicts...as long as we keep our guard.....we will keep the monster sleeping !!!I did enjoy watching the royal wedding...I'm a huge romantic.!!!!...Congratulations Lisa....so deserved....xNot again !!!...back to fckuin square one...grrrrExciting !!!!....one more ...till the big parteeeeeeeee !!!!!Thank you jillar...for posting this ...it brought tears... I didn't know how to be a adult,without my crutch... The more I did something smoke free...the more it came the norm...now I do everything ,and the thought of smoking is well forgotten... Be patient and kind to yourself..the magic will happen It happens ..one day at a time !!!!My daughter and I take a great vacation together every year. This next one, I want to fully enjoy every moment of it with her, without thinking of where I can have the next smoke. I can so relate to this.. I get to spend more time with my daughter...who I only see once a year....have good girly times ...they are such fun,without the smoke breaks ...That nico monster....he can come visiting,when you least expect it... Every time you fight him...he loses some of his power.. Well done S!!!!...you kicked his butt.!!!John was one of the most wonderful people ,I have encounted.... His writings were magical...and it was a great shock to those who knew him,when he wrote about his illness.... I'm sure he will stay in our hearts forever...and is sadly missed ...I'm have in the last month ,lost my life long friend (64 years ) to Pancreatic Cancer...Smoking being the main cause... She was 69 years old.... She smoked up to a couple of days before she died.. I tried my best to get her a seat on the train...but she told me she liked smoking ,and didn't want to quit... I will die a smoker she told me...sadly she did.... I hate this addiction !!!!What keeps me from lighting up... Living with the devastation smoking causes every day....being a full time carer for your partner with emphysema is no easy fete... Even to putting your coat on and walking out of the house is a drama...you have to make sure that person is going to be OK..while your gone... The little things most folks don't think about..have to be arranged .... If that wasn't enough to stop me..my feet and me ...were nearly parted... Thank you cigarettes...Great post and great pi,cs...jealous her too !!!Geat post Missdixie.... A inspirational post...a honest post.... Your proof it's doable....you have done it...huge congratulations.....
