Emphysema..... It's not only Cancer ...I watched my Hubby suffer with this illness for well over 15 years ... Slowly taking away his life ... He died 2 years ago ..spending his last year's on oxygen and in a wheel chair ... Needing carer,s to help me tend to his needs ... KTQ.

Thank you for sharing Christian... I saw my friend ask for a cigerette a couple of hours before she passed away .... Pancreatic Cancer brought on by Smoking .. It was the saddest thing to watch .... I too thought I would probably die a smoker ....having tried and failed to quit too many times to count ... I count my blessings every day ...I found Freedom and I will die a free woman ..

Any concerns ,always check with your doctor ...if you tell him you have quit ,he might be able to help . It will ease your mind ....

Be patient ,and rejoice that every day your lungs are healing ...that process starts the minute you out out your last cigerette.... Take time to look around the board ..there is tons of great information here.... Start at the Main Discussion Board ,the posts pinned with green ... We have some great Newbies here just now ...so your not alone ... Well done ..you can do it ....you just have to want and believe in yourself ...

After my shower ,I put on a snuggly top ,as it was cold and raining ... My Granddaughter visited,with her Dad later ... She says to me ...Aww nice top Nana....can I have it when you grow out of it ... 70 and 4 ft 11.....she is bigger than me at age 12.....Whaha

7 years on ....and I still get a massive sense of pride for my Quit My reward is my Freedom ....and living a healthier life .... It was hard going sometimes....but the result is so worth it ...
