  1. NOPE...we are getting 2-5 inches of snow here tonight with rain for tomorrow...yikes!
  2. Good for you, Lilly! One day at a time....and they really start to add up!
  3. Hi Chosen, and welcome aboard. Read all you can here and watch Joel's videos...this will reinforce your decision to quit now before you have health issues due to continuing to smoke. Many of us didn't get to pick a quit date or plan our quit...I am one of those. Sometimes, the Universe just picks the date and we need to acknowledge our good fortune and follow through! One day at a time....and you will get through what is known as Hell Week. Congrats on quitting! ?
  4. NOPE
  5. good god yes!
  6. Oh, Rozuki.....you are stronger than this....you know it!!! With all you have been through in this life you are not going to let a bunch of poison sticks get to you! Think about how great it has been to no longer stink, worry about do you have enough to get through the night, the money you are saving, the fact that not smoking means your COPD will not get worse (according to your pulmonologist), the fact that your arteries will get better (according to your cardiologist) , that you never want to go through another bypass operation or stent procedure!!!! So what if you are carrying around some extra pounds for awhile..... you will eventually lose them.....by walking more, which you now can do since you quit!!!
  7. Gonefishin21, Congrats! 4 years is fabulous! KTQ and celebrate! ?
  8. Oh, Jillar, I found that same forum about 2 months after I quit due to having what is known as a CVA while at work..(cardio vascular incident)......a stroke!!! Due to family history of cardiovascular problems, my smoking was leading me to an early death, for sure! I smoked for 40+ years! It was now or never in terms of quitting....which I did with the help of the hospital staff providing the patch that first week! Finding that QSMB forum two months later was the best thing ever.....I was able to finally educate myself about my addiction by reading and watching Joel's videos. It was very upsetting when that forum shut down....I wish I had some way to find some of those who befriended me there....although some are here such as you...and a few others like Beazel and Lin-Quitting are here but not as active anymore. Glad to have made some new friends here.....
  9. NOPE ...and my Dad and Uncles, too!
  10. I am getting ready to go out to dinner at an Italian restaurant with my two best friends (we have known each other since before kindergarten!!!) We are trying to get together once a month now....last month we went hiking in NYC and on a jazz cruise around lower Manhattan. We will plan at dinner what we will be doing for December's meetup! http://www.biggermamas.com/
  11. I just saw the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" last week....reminded how much someone like Freddie Mercury is missed today!
  12. Congrats, Dragons Fancy! Ooh....that first month is a tough one, but you got this! Cheers and KTQ! ?
  13. ^^@BKP I love this!!! ?
  14. NOPE...IT's Friday!
  15. I loved it....going back to see it again in Imax! Enjoy, Doreen...let's compare notes after you see it!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
