  1. Congrats, Christa326! Celebrate the momentous occasion and KTQ! Cheers!
  2. Thank you, Jillar!
  3. So, so true, Doreen! I just experienced this with a dear friend who just passed from lung cancer due to smoking...it was 8 months of exactly what you described...very sad, anguished days for her husband and family at the end. Nothing peaceful about any of what she went through and I witnessed much of it first-hand. Note: My friend was informed that any treatment (chemo and/or radiation) would only give her an extra 3 months (along with suffering the side effects of those treatments). Her prognosis was several weeks to 6 months w/o treatment. She elected to forgo treatment...
  4. Funny you should post this, reci...I will be going to the shore with my 2 long-time bff's (since before kindergarten!!). This is something we may be doing after the wine kicks in...lol
  5. NOPE... This will be good until I get back from the Jersey shore ....going to Wildwood NJ for a few days...fun in the sun!

  10. Welcome aboard, NoNicChick! I used the patch to quit ...and found this place which has been so helpful in understanding my addiction. Read, read, read and watch the Joel videos. Pledge to NOPE daily over on the NOPE forum (as Reci states above) and get yourself a "ticker" (it is a link on the menu bar) and watch the days and $$ add up!

  12. I managed to piss off some people early in my quit (mostly family members that continue to smoke). I couldn't hold back stating "God, you stink!" Oops....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
