    Working & Quitting

Red is my color! I also worked on an assembly line for a fancy schmancy cosmetic company for a while in college....putting liners and caps on jars of expensive skin creams, boxing up bottles of perfume and cologne, etc....at times it was like that episode of I Love Lucy with the candy coming down the conveyor belt...lol. Can't tell you how many times my thumb would go into the little jars as they would fly by....
  2. Congrats, Bakon! Seven years quit is super sensational! Go ahead and celebrate this unforgetable milestone and KTQ!
  3. 19, 116 poison sticks not smoked for me...hard to believe I am closing in on 20,000!
  4. I actually have a bottle of the Bragg AC vinegar on hand....I will go look at it to see the "Mother"!

  6. Ok...so far I am up to 11.8 lbs lost!! I am back into my walking groove and I so happy about that...each day I walk a little bit farther than the day before! Just carried a few 40 lb (5) bags of topsoil around the yard (20 more of those to go!) and spread it around...we are having Indian summer right now and it's getting hot out there...so time to take a break til later....
  7. Saz...what is the "mother"? I want to try and make this...thanks!
  8. Congrats, Hellkatbaby! Celebrate your achievement and KTQ!

  17. Yippee! I have lost 9 lbs in the last two weeks! I finally started walking around my hilly neighborhood for minimum 1/2 hr to 45 minutes daily again. Am also doing some gardening work which involves lifting 40 lb bags of topsoil to spread around for re-seeding my lawn...today 10 bags opened and spread around. Tomorrow I will spread around some mulch and do some weeding....all of this is making me sweat big-time and I think it is helping with my edema that surfaced after my bypass surgery. I am not really looking at the amount I have to lose (which is a big number!) I just cheer each lb that I lose knowing that it will make me feel better and get me closer to losing all that extra weight that seemed to pile on after CABGx3 surgery and the change in my blood pressure and high cholesterol meds!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
