  2. Thanks, @jillar, @Mee, @Doreensfree, @catlover! Nothing ever seems to be easy for me....but I seem to manage to get past any obstacles. In the last week, I managed to get my house and patios powerwashed, my upholstered furniture cleaned, my Saltillo mexican tile floor cleaned and sealed (it has never looked better!), the painting I needed done (ceilings in most of the rooms, the foyer, 3 doors on the main level "refreshed" and all trim molding on main level painted.) My house is now mint ++ and I even got to go away for 4 days! My pool guy is coming tomorrow to clean the inground pool so it will be sparkling when the real estate photographer comes Monday morning to take pics and I just need to keep it that way for the open house next week. Please, no hurricanes or tropical storms for awhile!
  3. Wait no more, @jillar! Here is the update....The trip to OC, Maryland was really wonderful. Perfect weather, perfect boyfriend, perfect time to go, perfect hotel. Boardwalk was easy to navigate as the summer crowd was gone! Every one we encountered or where ever we went, the Covid rules were being followed. Assateague Island National Park was perfect! Great scenery and beaches there. We saw at least 10 ponies wandering around...so got to cross that off my bucket list. We might go back again next year with his camper. My house is on the market and the open house is next Sunday...I have been working hard to get it all spruced up (I haven't really been able to do much in the past 3 years due to health issues but I am making up for it now ($$$). I have some great friends that are willing to pitch in and help me sort through all my stuff...I have been donating to Big Brother, Big Sister of Long Island. Good God, why do I never throw anything away????? Guess I really am a pack-rat! I will be moving to the Blue Ridge mountain area of western North Carolina where the BF lives, after my house sells. BF is so excited about this! This guy is just about the best thing to ever happen to me. He was there for me when I was going through my divorce 11 years ago (how I vented to him about that...for months) He and his late wife were there for me when I had the stroke 3.5 years ago. They were both there for me when I had the CABGx3 surgery 2.5 years ago. I was there for him when his wife was dying 1.5 years ago of lung cancer that had spread to the brain. Never in a million years would I have thought this would be happening when I hired him 13 years ago...our story is very unique, that is for sure!

  6. I am packing for my drive down to Ocean City, Maryland tomorrow! Staying at a place right on the beach for a few days and have no plans other than to explore the boardwalk there and visit Assateague Island (known for its wild ponies). This has been in the back of my mind since I read the book "Misty of Chincoteague" by Marguerite Henry when I was about 8 yrs old...someday I will go to that place! That day has arrived! If you were wondering....yes, I am meeting up with my BF and we will stay at a nice hotel right on the beach! It's a 5 hour drive for me, a 10 hour drive for him!! Hmmm...are things ratcheting up between us? Stay tuned......

  16. Thank you, Jillar!! I am seeing my Mom this Tuesday as we celebrate her 87th birthday at the nursing home/rehab center. She will be impressed with her awesome stats! As per the new NYS Covid-19 rules: We have to show a negative covid test result from W/I last 7 days to visit with her for 1/2 hour. They only allow 2 visitors at a time. There are 5 of us siblings. You do the math! Right after we visit with her, we have to book an appt to visit her next week (only 1 visit per week) then get another covid test and hope there isn't a delay in getting the results back as right now could take 2-6 days for results!!!! I was lucky this time-got my results back in less than 2 days. If you want the rapid test, you have to find a place doing it....and they charge $50 for that even if you have insurance. Such a mess...but we will be bringing cupcakes for all...lemon w/ lemon cake and chocolate w/ yellow cake...Mom's favorites!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
