  4. Yankees pulled it off again! I'm starting to warm to Aaron Judge. A handsome, incredibly talented Lurch-like character who was adopted as an infant.. Turns out he had wonderful parents and all worked out for the best. All the same, gotta wonder if his birth mother has any idea that he's the child she had to let go of...

  8. Best wishes for a happy day and a good year!
  9. Four!
  10. Take heart, Johnny- they're still alive. Although I know it's nerve wracking, hope you can enjoy the games!
  11. Best wishes to you too, AG!
  12. I will have a small Glutino gluten-free frozen pizza followed by chocolate caramel gelato. Thanks for asking. Enjoy your meal!!!
  13. You certainly have a right to your opinion and if you are choosing to vape and use that as a method to reduce smoking cigarettes, that's the choice you're making. You can't, however, claim to have quit smoking on April 26th when you are currently "down to" 5 cigarettes a day. That is, in fact, the average number of cigarettes I was smoking when I quit, cold turkey, on May 20th. There were other periods in my life when I smoked a lot more than that per day, but for the last 4 or so years of my smoking life, that's all it was but you can rest assured that I was addicted to those 5 cigarettes a day as I was to the full pack a day habit I had at one time. Once you are no longer ingesting nicotine in any form, you have quit "smoking." Not before. That is my opinion. If you think vaping is helping you to reach that goal, great. But to be clear, you are not quitting till you actually quit. Until then, you are reducing your intake. Looking forward to seeing you again (with a correct ticker) once you have actually quit.

  18. This is the best train ride I've ever been on! Such comraderie and no crowding. Everyone has a comfortable seat and interesting travel companions. Thanks for being the force behind this engine, MQ! Your 4-year quit is equally impressive. Congratulations and many thanks!
  19. Wow Jess... you did it! Hope you're feeling great about this! Congrats and KTQ!
  20. Was wishing there was an "I LOVE this" button.
  21. Hi Mary. Welcome on board and big congratulations on your 9-day victory! You are right- this is HUGE! I do believe that once you decide and fully commit to the quit, take smoking completely off the table, you can be successful under any circumstances. It's what YOU want, after all, and even if there are times you struggle with craves or romancing the smoke, you are in full control of your actions and can stick to your commitment. This all happens as it naturally gets easier over time, as you know, and you start to really see the benefits of being a non-smoker more and more clearly the longer you're smoke-free. You'll get plenty of support here when you need it and get the chance to help others along the way, which is all part of the give and take on this friendly, low-key board. I've been on here for a few months now and it's been a great help and lots of laughs and best of all drama-free. 'Cause who needs that!?! I'll let one of the more seasoned quitters give direction on what to pay attention to on the board as a new member. Just wanted to say welcome and best wishes!
  22. I don't think I've "met" John yet but anyone with 9 months quit has my sincere admiration! Congratulations!!
  23. These sticks are learning how to take defeat. A valuable skill, guys. You can thank us later...
  24. Hilarious, I had a co-worker with similar "attributes" who, upon returning from a trip to Europe, spoke at length about how the French moon was so much different from the U.S. moon. PS this lady has 2 Masters degrees. Go figure.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
