  3. The videos were really helpful for me, Arynn. They educate you about addiction and keep your mind occupied during the more vulnerable early days of your quit. No matter what your diagnosis turns out to be, you’ll have a far better chance of getting better if you’re not a smoker. If you’re nervous about what you’re feeling, speak to a doctor if you think that might alleviate your fear. No matter what, just don’t smoke. It’s not going to make anything better; it only makes things worse. It’s hard to think clearly when you’re feeling terrible and your addicted mind will try to pull you back into the trap. Don’t fall into that trap.

  5. Arynn, it makes me really happy to see a young person like you come to their senses and dump this stupid addiction at 24. Many of us on this forum were already hooked before it was known how harmful smoking is. It seems like lately so many young people have forgotten or disregard the dangers of smoking and are puffing away thinking it’s cool (again). Good for your for putting a stop to it and got honoring your dad in that way. Keep posting and “talking” about how you’re doing. KTQ! (Keep that quit!)

  12. Awesome...
  13. Good work, Tracey and Boo! My routine: Monday 1/2 hour elliptical Tuesday 45 minutes kick boxing Wednesday 1/2 hour elliptical Thursday 1/2 hour Zumba, yoga or elliptical Friday 1/2 hour Zumba + 45 minutes kick boxing Saturday 75 minutes dance aerobics Sunday rest or walking Would love to do strength training but herniated cervical disc makes that impossible. Kick boxing, that is non-contact but includes lots of reps of punching and kicking sequences and squats, leg work galore helps tremendously with toning of arms and legs and can be a great core workout if you focus on that area. Trying to make my 10000 steps every day but some days I don't quite get there if I'm at my desk too long (which is quite frequent these days) For me, the Psychological/mood and outlook enhancing benefits of working out exceed even the physical benefits. If I miss more than one day, I feel the difference right away
  14. Lisz, you have a 5-year quit. You can do anything. You don't need luck but if you want it wished for you, consider it done. I look forward to hearing about your success.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
