  1. Nice to see you Dee. Life is, indeed, a great mixup of ups and downs. (Biggest up=quitting smoking - yay!). Despite that resplendent victory, this has been a year of many downs for me, so I'm happy to see the azz-end of 2017. Can't come soon enough for me. Here's to a fantastic 2018 for everyone.
  2. Hoping for the best outcome for you with your PTSD treatment! One thing I do know is, even though it doesn't feel like it when you're a smoker, smoking actually worsens anxiety. Anxiety feeds on stimulants like nicotine, so smoking makes you even more anxious than you already would be from the PTSD You think smoking relaxes you but the only thing it's doing is relieving your withdrawal so you think it's making you feel good, Anxiety and depression are kissing cousins, so you'll only be doing the very best thing you can do for yourself by quitting smoking, As you likely remember from previous quits, you feel infinitely better as a non-smoker. Hope to see you back here feeling better and ready to settle in for a nice long ride on the train.
  3. WOOHOOOO, Reci! It’s been great watching your quit progress from inspiring to enviable since I’ve been on this board. You’ve earned your freedom; glad to hear you’re enjoying it! Congratulations, Buddy!
  4. That's fantastic! You're an inspiration in more ways than one!
  5. Now You're -15, Latoya; I'm -16
  6. An unexepected joy of being free is the realization that what you were hiding behind the mask is so much more beautiful than the mask.
  7. Yes! Have a very happy smoke free birthday!
  8. Luge without an i, an Italian food
  9. Asleep on the job -20!!! woohoo

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
