  6. Yesterday morning 30 minutes on the elliptical in the morning then around lunchtime started feeling a cold coming on. It's fully on now! So I slept in as late as I could this morning and skipped my workout. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Or not. It's a cold. It came; it will go. And not a moment too soon. (Sniff)
  7. Hi Jane! I don’t remember the date of last Mothers’ Day but with my quit date of 5/20/17, you and I quit around the same time. Congrats on your quit and welcomed me to the QuitTrain!

  10. Wanted to welcome you too, LQ! You can do this! You see here a lot of people who have been through the same difficult first day you’re experiencing right now. Every journey begins with those first steps. Just keep on going and whatever you do, however you figure out are the best way to cope, use them and don’t smoke. No more of it- take it off the table and say “Good riddance”. No matter what your circumstances are, you're doing the very best thing you can for yourself. The fact that this applies to each and every living person who smokes tells you it’s got to be done. Best wishes, PeaceTrain

  19. Welcome, Sslip! The rough patches get fewer and further between. Don't make the mistake I made (in past failed quits) of thinking you "should" be somewhere different or feeling something different from what you really are. You are where you are, you feel what you're feeling and that's that. You'll get to the point of feeling comfortable and glad you quit as long as you don't smoke. That's the main thing. Hang onto your quit and NOPE! Best wishes, PeaceTrain

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
