  1. Hey guys, you’ll probably be hearing from me a lot cause I’m on day 3 and it’s rough. I think my biggest issue right now, and what the nicotine addiction is using to try and trick me into smoking, is that I actually enjoyed smoking and used it as a reward. I know rationally that smoking isn’t enjoyable and there are zero health benefits or anything in them that would make you “relax” but I’m too used to smoking after I finish cleaning, or watering plants, or working and I always think of how I “earned” it. So stupid. Any advice to get out of this frame of thinking?
  2. Thanks for all the encouragement. I’m really struggling today. I’ve hardly been able to sleep the last 2 days, and I just feel so anxious. I know they say a craving only lasts about 10 minutes but I swear it feels like it’s been nonstop for 2 days.
  3. @jillar I really liked the book, and felt like I resonated with a lot of it, but for some reason I thought it would be like magic quitting, and so far this is my hardest quit yet. I want it to be my last because I desperately want to be done smoking before I’m 30. I just can’t believe how emotional I am this time around. I’ve cried like 4 times today lol @Reciprocity I was just looking back at our old messages today, and it honestly made me feel like a huge dummy for ever going back. I really underestimated how strong the addiction is and how hard it would be to quit again. I know I did it to myself and need to stop feeling sorry for myself, but it’s soooo hard, ughhhh
  4. I finished reading the Allen Carr Easy Way yesterday and smoked my last cigarette 15 hours ago. I felt so confident yesterday, but now I’m sitting here in tears because I don’t understand why it doesn’t feel as “easy” as the book says.
  5. Thanks so much, everyone!! I’m just now seeing this! I’m feeling great & loving being a non smoker. I appreciate everyone’s support so much! 1 month down, forever to go
  6. Hey guys, I’m Kenzie & this is my second time quitting and returning to this site. I’m 27, and started smoking when I was 14. I’m from Texas! I quit smoking again 12/12/2021. I log in here everyday and kind of creep around when I’m feeling like I want to smoke, and it really does help! Plus it’s comforting to know I could SOS and have so many awesome people to help.
  7. Cravings were tough today, but instead of smoking I rewarded myself with this big badass bowl of Greek yogurt. what did you do instead of smoking today?
  8. Thanks everyone! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a blessed new year!
  9. and probably about 10 pounds heavier.
  10. It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve been on here. I was quit until a year ago & now I’m ready to try again. this is day 3 smoke free which hasn’t been bad because I’ve been too sick to smoke, but now that I’m feeling better, the cravings are kicking in. Anyway, I’m determined to kick it this time!
  11. Thanks guys. I haven’t smoked again since that. It is hard because all of my friends smoke and my husband smokes. But I felt sick after smoking and honestly haven’t felt like it again.
  12. I’ve only quit again for about 2 weeks. I threw away a year quit before that and this was my second attempt.
  13. Really didn’t even want to post this because I feel embarrassed and ashamed
  14. Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh. I smoked 2 cigarettes today. Down on myself, and feel shitty again already.
  15. I’m slowly but surely trying to get through all the articles on this site. My mistake last time was that I strayed away from here and didn’t have all the facts... I’m determined this time, but know I’m still in the beginning stages of quitting and am still weak ?
  16. Thank you Sazerac!! Seriously, I am so grateful you were on the board tonight and were able to offer me advice! I haven’t watched the video yet but seriously love “h.a.l.t”. So true, I’m drinking my ice water now and feeling much better

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
