  1. That was too cute! And cautionary. Thanks Catlover.
  2. My motivations to stay quit: - I was on my way to an oxygen tank. What a ridiculous way to live when I have the power to defeat that possibility. This was my main motivation to quit in the first place: I finally got angry enough about this to do something about it. - My self esteem is now all entwined with quitting. If I ever gave in now I wouldn't be able to live with myself. The fact that I successfully quit makes me feel good about myself. - And joyful. Some days I can actually feel joy about my breathing and my discipline and my release from the slavery and my new daily exercise routine, that came about solely from quitting. - and $1000.00/year money in my pocket ain't too shabby a reason either. Thanks for the post Sazerac. It's a great reminder and motivator.
  3. Good morning. Making my first Quit Train NOPE pledge: I pledge NOPE today.
  4. We all hope you are well and smoke-free Jules. Congratulations on reaching 3 months of freedom!
  5. You are an inspiration on this board PeaceTrain (evident even to just a lurker like me!) Congratulations on reaching 9 months of smobriety.
  6. Well done Albert, two months is fantastic work! Congratulations.
  7. Ditto.
  8. All I have to remember - for the rest of my life - is NOPE. I stay close to my "quit smoking forum/support group" (thanks! QuitTrain for taking us in) just so that I never forget that one simple thing. (My BFF is injured and in a sling right now and asked me to "light one" for her just this week. It horrified me that I was halfway to doing it - you know, I was only thinking to help her out - before I realized what I was doing! NOPE. I must remember I can't take that chance. Ever.)
  9. Hi guys! Even after almost a year, I find I need my daily inspiration and reinforcement. It's good to find so many old friends here. I hope to make new ones. And I send great big thank yous to the Quit Train forum for being so nice in welcoming us.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
