  1. You’re doing great Opah. (Autotext keeps typing Oprah) Is that you Oprah? You get a car!
  2. Chris it’s Tuesday today my friend. NOPE for me.
  3. I am thankful that I realise how serious this addiction is, especially when read something written by the previous poster about having her feet amputated. I am thankful to no longer be a slave to this futile and nasty addiction.
  4. Congrats. It must be great to reach one year! Massive achievement. :-)
  5. Congrats. It must be great to reach two!

  7. I found that patches helped me without feeling like I had to quit something later. NRT is helpful but I needed other supports along with a big bucketload of desire to quit. I used gum gum but was disappointed later to find I was obsessively chewing it when stressed with no relief. This was a little while after I had quit. I regretted using it since I felt like I had to go through withdrawal again to stop it. This is just my experience. I’m not telling others what to do since it is preferable to smoking. You can quit no matter what other problems/challenges you have. Remember this because you need to know you. And I it. Smoking gives us the false message that we need it and can’t stop it but we can stop it.
  8. Hi everyone. I really try to avoid coming to the board and complaining these days. I mean I’m through the worst of my quit. The horrible hell, heck and WTF weeks are long gone, as is the fabled no persons land. Most days are fine now and I rarely think about smoking, but I have to say SOMETIMES, that’s right at random times, I have a hell, heck, WTF moment and can only describe it like an intrusive thought of really wanting to smoke. I do of course talk myself out of it but this can be tiring at times and annoying. Don’t get me wrong I am grateful since it’s not as bad as the first weeks but I have to say I’m waiting for the day when I NEVER want to smoke!
  9. I hope things go well for your Dad boo.
  10. Congrats NSJ!!! Fantastic to reach 4 months. ?
  11. Swapping the witch for the bitch, I wouldn’t have resorted to potato chips. Caffeine yes and sugar/chocolate yes. Potato chips don’t do a thing for me.
  12. The short road is certainly easier but many do eventually get there by taking the long road. While it’s not advised it’s still great to see them arrive in quitland. ?
  13. Congrats! Fantastic!
  14. Awww wow thanks guys. I didn’t even realise until I saw this here. Thanks everyone for heaps of kindness. Love you all. ?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
