  1. Not having to stop what I'm doing every 30-60 minutes to feed my addiction.
  2. Welcome Gigi! You're doing great!
  3. I wrote this just about one year after my quit. Re-post. I like pizza. However, it’s pretty rare that I actually order one; maybe once or twice a year. Well last night, on my way home from work, I ordered a Supreme Thin Crust for carryout. Picked it up, got it home, and then it hit me – I forgot to ask for crushed peppers. Damn! For me, pizza without crushed peppers is like fries without ketchup. I even considered hopping in my car to head back to Pizza Hut. Then it occurred to me. I think I have some peppers in a bag stashed in the back of my kitchen cabinet! I jumped up and began rifling through the spices, olive oil and other clutter, until (Hallelujah!) I spotted the bag. I dumped it out on the kitchen counter and besides the crushed peppers, out tumbled a full pack of my old brand of cigarettes. Can you imagine my reaction? If not, let me tell you. It was absolutely nothing. I threw the pack away (no need to submerge them in water or put them through my paper shredder). Then I enjoyed my pizza. Time really does heal.
  4. Congratulations Feely. You're doing great.
  5. Congratulations Rob! Be proud!
  6. Well done Carsmummy!!!
  7. Congratulations Grace. Three months is amazing!
  8. Feely I had very intense concerns about my breathing shortly after quitting. My doctor ended up ordering a pulmonary function test where you do various breathing exercises as you sit in a clear plastic chamber. They fortunately didn't find anything serious and my shortness of breath ended up going away on its own after about 2 months. That being said, if your situation seems serious and persistent, I would definitely follow up with your doctor. The only other thing I would point out is that quitting smoking will only improve your breathing in the long run. Don't let short term symptoms cause you to abandon your quit.
  9. Cat saw bakon on the beach and tried to bury him. JK
  10. I agree that Edna is kind and just got caught up in a cluster _. I would have brought it up with her over there, but I get logged off any time I try to post or PM.
  11. I see Edna is back at QSMB telling people she got zero congratulations here. Sad, but I shouldn't be surprised. I think I'll just stay away from there. I quit smoking to get away from the toxins.
  12. Your mind is your most powerful ally Feely. It can prevail in any battle as long as it says "I will not smoke right now!" Congratulations on 4 days of freedom! Crabby-free days will come again.
  13. Nina 3 months is great! You should be very proud. KTQ

  15. Stayin' Alive (Bee Gees) What best describes your mother?
  16. As the "fix" is being implemented at the other site, just wanted to say how much I've really enjoyed it over here. I'm impressed with the commitment to free expression and tolerance here. Very refreshing. Hope it's okay with you guys if I stick around here. Thanks Paul
  17. Think I'll postpone pruning for a day.
  18. NOPE! Happy Anniversary Beazel!!!
  19. If I hear that again then someone gonna haffa cash me outside.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
