  1. I have been to a lot parties and clubs now where they have the turkish hookahs going. One time there were so many people smoking that I almost drowned on the vapors. Of course I did not try them even though I did hear a faint whisper from the old Nicodemon telling me that it was ok.
  2. The health scare stuff worked for me in the end! It got to a point that every time I smoked I thought about how I was killing myself. Another thing I think works is the ban on smoking every where indoors. I was so thankful when I first quit that I did not have to be around smokers every where.

  8. For me it was important to get over wanting to suck something into my lungs. This was something I "missed" right in the beginning. About a week after I quit my lungs felt like they were opening up and that I could suck in lots of clean air without coughing.
  9. How are you doing

  13. I used to picture a little monster in my chest who was the Nicodemon. Every time I had a crave or a junkie thought, I pictured the monster dying, throwing its last fits. This really worked for me and I got some morbid satisfaction about it growing weaker and weaker . I tried not to tempt the monster by dwelling on thoughts of smoking, listening to the lies.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
